I was very naughty and spent £1.50 on a nice large bamboo kitchen cannister/barrel, I had to put it straight into storage at my mums house as our kitchen here is already fully furnished, but I love bamboo and it will go with my bread bin and chopping board when I eventually have my own place again. :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

  • Aren't charity shops great?!:j

My youngest goes to a private 6th form, where the rest of the students are considerably wealthier than we are. Thankfully it's uniformed, but still I sometimes wondered if she was teased for her Primark shoes and coat etc., she is not the type to ever say. Both coat and shoes needed replacing anyways and were not weatherproof for her walk to 6th form, so my mum went charity shopping in a upmarket area and managed to buy DD a very smart black Calvin Klein waterproof trench coat, and an unworn pair of Brazilian made black low heeled court shoes - both for just over £10!
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

Two James May books for one son, an archaeology textbook for another and a "Making of" star Trek (can't remember which now) for the third. Change from £2 and a wonderful quiet as they sat engrossed!

Two pairs of flat shoes, both leather. One black pair with label still attached, the other red Fly Flots, look like they have only been worn once, little tight but shoe stretcher works wonders.

Not 'mega' bargains as such but I'm pretty pleased none-the-less:
Aquascape tunic with a design of Greece on, lots of white churches with blue domes, on a predominantly blue background with pink lillies and sequin highlights and a silk trim to the neck.
It's bum-skimmer length with 3/4 sleeves and side slits.
I know it sounds hideous :o but it looks fab, fab, fab with jeggings and jeans. It cost £4 and they're only about £18 new but it's in as-new condition.

Wallis petite sleeveless dress, mainly black with cream, jade, mustard & olive orchid flowers cascading down off centre on the front and back.
It's size 12 and makes me look slim. :T

It will look great with bare legs in the summer or black tights and a cardi/shrug in one of the contrasting colours in the winter.
It was £6.50 but I really liked it.

Got a lovely Laura Ashley long wool skirt in autumnal checks the other day. :j Price £4. Trouble was it was 2 sizes too big. Out with the sewing machine and 2" taken in on each side, (no zip or waistband than goodness!). Bit faffy but soooo pleased with the result....will be great with my short brown Puffa jacket this winter. (Also a chazza shop buy:o)

Yesterday I got a cable knit sleeveless jacket with hood originally by Maine.

Today I got and M and S long angora jumper. It is pink but has bands of different colours running round it and the occasional sequin! I'm not sure if it is a long jumper or could be worn with leggings like a dress.
