A 'friend' said I should put it on eBay but is it me 'cos I think that seems immoral.

Personally I do, and if I ever sell something I bought in a charity shop I give 50% of any "profit" back to the charity so they benefit as well as me.

I certainly don't buy in charity shops with the intent of selling on for my own benefit.

I do think it's immoral (maybe a too strong a word :)) to buy stuff with the express intention of making a fast buck on ebay.

I don't think it's immoral to buy something as you obviously did i.e. you bought it because you liked it.
It is only your friend who's put the ebay idea into your head.

Most charity shops nowadays are very clued up about the value of the items they're selling. In fact, I think where they have an item that they think is worth a fair bit of money e.g. an original designer bag, they often way over-price things.

And it's not like you only paid a £1 for the items and the charity shop didn't pay anything for them so the profit is all theirs.

So, unless you really need the cash, if I were you, I'd wear the dress and trousers and feel fab. :)

Managed to pick up a Next men's woollen duffle coat for £10 for DH, perfect fit and lovely and smart as well as warm. We'd been looking for a decent length coat for him to wear in his wheelchair/scooter and this is perfect.

I also picked up a huge stash of tartan woollen fabrics, 5 different designs, over a meter in each piece, going to make DD1 a throw for her bed as she loves tartan.

Thanks for all your views on CS/Ebay. I've never gone in to get stuff to re-sell but I think if I decide in future to get rid of the dress it'll either go back to a CS or I like Floss2's idea :)

not quite my bargain, but I have been given a pair of barely worn Scarpa walking boots from a friend because they don't fit....they picked them up for £3 in a charity shop! They are perfect for me, and worth at least £100 new.

If they are leather Scarpa boots, they will have been around £110 as I have some!
