Good one wondercollie. Actually no she is as ordinary as me but sees no point in having nice china and not using it. She bought it piece by piece and just loves it. Makes great cake too:)

She actually gave me the coffee pot as she never uses it so I will give her the plate.

what I don't want on my gravestone " She died young - but had lovely china!
  • Went to a small market town in Worcestershire today and the Sue Ryder shop was having a summer clearance - everything £1.
How could I resist donating to such a good cause .. so I bought an M&S pink Tshirt, an M&S "Indigo" very fine cotton l/sleeve shirt and some BM crop cargo trousers BNWT for the princely sum of £3.
    I'm such a spendthrift!!!
    Normal people worry me.

Just come home with a "Jamie Oliver" white medium milk jug - absolutely perfect, looks brand new. Cost me £1 - rather than the £18-£20 it is currently sold for.

I visited another town yesterday too, lots of charity shops there.

I got a M&S Autograph silk/cotton mix top in navy & white pattern - very smart and perfect with the navy linen and white linen trousers I mentioned several pages ago - £4 from Scope and a 3/4 sleeved Fossil soft jersey top - blue with flowers on that looks great with jeans. That was £4.49 in Cancer Research but someone was in the changing rooms so I decided to leave it and go back later. When I picked it up again, it was marked down to £3. :T

Paperback books in the Sue Ryder shop were £1.85.

    I love M&S Indigo range
  • That is a great bargain Pollycat :) I love m$s too. I got a topshop top for my daughter yesterday and an purple m$s top for myself. Good to mix with jeans or black trousers and jacket to look a bit more dressed up. Both a £1 :):):)

Not charity shop but I wanted to share this bargain:
I bought a bra-sized bikini top from Debenhams on Tuesday in 2 shades or khaki & 2 shades of pink with a bit of black thrown in.
    Reduced from £20 to £2.
I thought I could maybe pick up a plain bottom to go with it.

But....................my friend (who was with me when I bought it) has just phoned to say she's in a different Debenhams and she's found the matching bottoms in my size - for £3.60!

So a lovely bikini for £5.60, I'm a happy lady and I owe my friend. :D

I got this today for £8. Not a total bargain but it is brand new and was half what it would cost in Ikea.

My nearest Ikea is 40 miles away and I've been ogling this online but couldn't justify the petrol just for a cake stand, so am pleased with my find :)

Had a quick look in two charity shops down the street today.
    Cat's Protection:
acrylic knit jumper with Owl on it (from George): £1.25
lovely hand knitted pale brown gloves (I knit and getting the fingers right on gloves is one thing I struggle with!): £0.35
    some books for DS: £0.35
    Red Cross:
books for DS and knitting pattern for me: £0.80

I then went along the street and promptly spent £50 on yarn/needles, but it is Lopi and to make a sweater for me for this winter. A shop bought one of this quality would cost a lot lot more and I will love knitting it. Been thinking to get this yarn for an age and had some birthday/holiday money left so finally got some!
