Nicnax What a super find - there's hours of work in that quilt it looks beautiful & its re-homed where its going to be appreciatedSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Thanks, I couldn't believe what a bargain it was, I would love to beable to patchwork but it is way beyond my basic sewing skills.0 -
Nipped into a chazza to kill time before hopping on a bus. They had a 49p rack, and I managed to find a strappy floral summer top amongst the not-so-desirables. For less than the price of a choc bar, I'm happy!0

Not a charity shop but a boot sale, this is what I got this morning:
Brand new, never even opened, Weight watchers pro points kitchen scale - £3 (they retail at £40!) Delighted with this one.
Summer dress for £2
Light up world globe for £2
8 CDs for £2
Quite a nice little haul.0 -
Another not a charity shop, but a boot sale post. Was selling at a car booty this morning and found some black ankle boots for £2, unworn. 3 scarves for £1.50, a multi-coloured snood for 1.50 and a little ball of very interesting (at least to me) wool for my new-found knitting love. Did well on the selling front as well, though we shan't talk about the dog that widdled on one of our wares!
Oh, and on Fri at Save the Children got 2 tops for a pound a piece. Lovely White Stuff wrap top and an exercise top by a brand called 'Hard Bodies', made me chuckle.0 -
I got this dress:
for £6 something.
And another dress that I can't find a picture of - grey with pink flowers and a ribbon belt for £5.50.
An all in one cloth nappy, £2.99.
Cranium board game £2 something.0 -
I popped into my local charity shop today and got
1 girls party dress in excellent condition
1 pair of jeans for me looking brand new (I already have a pair the same make and they are such a good fit and wash really well)
and 6 kids books
for £2.50 :eek::eek::eek:0 -
I went into 2 charity shops this morning and got 3 t shirts for my sons (although they are 12 and 9, they are both exactly 5 feet tall so clothes are interchangeable!)
1) Fred Perry black t shirt with abstract large "leaves" in different colours.
2) Weird Fish blue T shirt with pictures of erm... fish on!
3) M and S red t shirt with an applique VW camper van.
All for £3.20!0 -
I've been looking for a handbag to go with my nautical style outfits for over a month, getting increasingly frustrated at being outbid on all the bags I've liked on ebay.
Finally found a nice bag for £2.99 yesterday in the CS, navy & white stripes with a nice wide (adjustable) long strap and a nice size to fit everything in (without it weighing a tonne).
Been upcycling it today with lots of things in my craft stash, anchor print ribbon bows, anchor design, buttons, a big wooden anchor (like a keyring) and matching beads.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Picked up an Ikea Bygga, kids construction set for £3.49 today, I think there's 1 or 2 small parts missing but other than that it's great, saw one in a different CS the other month but the instructions had been scribbled all over, and as I'm saving it for a Christmas gift it was no good for me.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
