Also picked up a pretty Next linen skirt for 99p in Oxfam, and my absolute favourite buy is a real leather handbag from Autograph at M&S for £4.99. It is gorgeous and similar to a Mulberry style bag. Very pleased with my haul!
I`m amazed that you picked up a skirt so cheaply in Oxfam- ours is very expensive. Well done!
I bought 8 spoon @ 20p each and 2 serving sponns also 20p each. Apparently they are nickle silver and called F Whitehouses eversilver. Anyway polish up beautifully and the serving spoons are very ornate. Also picked up two dog towels and a cookbook which I donated to my friend. Oddly enough we went further afield from where we live( Bromley) and found the best treasures were nearer to home!)0 -
I wasn't even going CS shopping today but just popped in when I was in a new area after a job interview this morning. Got a lovely pair of Reiker shoes which look brand, spanking-new for a very modest fiver. I needed them to replace my sorry, worn-out but truly loved Merrell Mocs which I bought yonks ago but just didn't have the sixty to eighty quid for some new ones. They're as comfy as a pair of slippers and I'm very, very happy.0

whitesatinYou've just given me the nudge I need. I've lost weight on the 5:2 diet & need to try on last years summer clothes. I know some will fit but I'm hoping quite a lot will be too big
so they'll go to the CS - what goes around........:)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
A big full-length winter coat, 100% wool, for £10. It would have cost around £120+ in the shops. I'm very happy.0

Hi all
I seem to be always handing my stuff in at PDSA when I go down town. Just had a big declutter of the house. So many things you do not need 2 of when you buy a better improved model.
Yesterday was a new jigsaw I was given one Christmas I did not like the picture of. x4 bags of books and my sons old school bag (all in good condition). I like the idea of just handing in. Better than the bin and I do not sell on flea bay.
I did splash out and buy some new curtains for my big kitchen window for £10. They are cream with spring/summer flowers on. Poly/cotton and fully lined. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
I know exactly how you feel. I've stopped giving to some of our local shops because of the attitude of the staff. I've tried handing things over in the shop and have had staff just grab things off me without even a thank you. Last week I tried to give a bag of things in at the sorting room at the back.
I handed 4 bags in at a different CS last week. I was about to go and the manageress asked if I had a gift card, I said, no, and she gave me some cards and told me I can get a stamp per bag given next time. Get 8 stamps and it's £5 to spend in the CS. I asked could I not have a card stamped today as I have just donated 4 bags and she said, "no, you have to bring the card in with you" and walked away.
FWIW I put the card back on the counter and walked out. Not giving there again.0 -
M&S blouse with a gold thread stripe running through it for £1.99 from my local PDSA. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
