I got 5 huge toy tractors for my wee boy for only £1 each in Barnardos. The charity shop is great for small kids.

A couple of weeks ago [can#'t go shopping at the moment - boo] a pair of orginal late 70s patchwork curtains for £3 - and they are actually patchwork, not just printed.....now for the work of making them slightly larger and lining them again to fit my window :)

Are you going to border them with a complimentary plain colour?

Yes. I have an old curtain or textured material that would do it, one is stretchy when sewing, one is difficult to cut straight because of the extra top stitching, so it all depends how difficult i want to make my life :)
I'm also going to line it with two complementary colours, 2/3 of one type, 1/3 of another. I have some patterned lining that's predominantly one colour, and some plain lining.

I got a lovely 1970s teak fruit bowl for £2 - going to use it as a salad bowl for a dinner party tomorrow night. It's really nice, so pleased with it.

Also a set of placemats for £2, a really nice Next skirt for £4 and a pair of smart leather Next wedges for £5. Quite pleased with today's finds, but especially my teak bowl :D

No charity shops for me this week as I have a bad foot so haven't been able to get out, but I do love reading about all the bargains you've all been picking up, oh and today wasn't so bad, was able to go round the supermarket (as I could use their scooter) and got 2 big bunches of lovely daffodils (40 flowers) for just 40p! :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

I had a teak salad bowl in the 70s then they went out of fashion. Like you, I bought one recently in a charity shop. Don't forget to oil it regularly with olive oil or other kitchen oil to keep it looking good.

My pet hate is the oh so tastefully arranged clothes by COLOUR instead of size. I don't know about you, but i don't got looking for a red dress, I look for something that FITS.

I LOATHE this! Especially as it seems to be rare that the local charity shops have anything in my size. It's all very well and good for a normal shop to group clothes by styles, since they have several in different sizes of each thing, but really! Why have they all started doing it? They've seen that Mary Portas and got fancy ideas probably.

It actually makes me not buy any of the clothes as it's far too much effort to even look through them all, I bet they haven't thought about that.
