this deal is a hoax, i went to try get one (big currys superstore) after missing out on the asda deal and they checked the system for ages and couldnt find anything like it, bundle deals included.

I then phoned a second store when I got home and was told the deal doesn't exist.

Thread sould be removed and poster slapped on the bottom.;)

Hi - I called Currys this morning and they confirmed as in-store only - no stock information. You have to go to the store and see what they do - or do not - have. (I rang - Oxford sold out, High Wycombe and Aylesbury no stock)

And yes - I will not be buying a gutted PS3 - if anything I will import.

Be warned just because you reserve it and it says in stock doesn't mean that they have it.

No - it means they do have it, it's just that when you get there the staff realise it is such a good deal they grab it for themselves and then tell you they can't find the item, then buy it once you've left the store.

As for the PS3 not being backward compatible with my kids 40+ PS2 titles then Sony can go whistle. Father Christmas brought an XBox360 because the PS3 release was delayed and the kids love it. And little one's BDay is coming up and he wants a Nintendo Wii. So we have absolutely no reason now to buy Sony again - they've shot themselves in the foot with the PS3 launch over here.

They looked at me funny when I asked instore.. but they did check the system, shame it came up blank though £104.99 according to the manager-bloke.. damn!!

Phoned up about 10 stores and ONLY Colliers Wood Store confirmed they had an offer but 'Out of Stock' now

I have just been to Currys on Winchester Road Southampton and got a PS2 with eyetoy as stated in the title for £50. I do not work for Currys or PCWorld (I work for Ann Summers!). Some of the staff didn't know about it but one did and they had to go out to the store room to get it as it wasn't on the shelves. So this is a genuine deal, but it looks like it is stock-dependent.

Looks like PCWorld are doing deal too - according to hotdeals - PS2 with Buzz pack £50 too

I have just returned from Currys Banbury - the offer is genuine but very limited stock - apparently there are definately some left at Oxfrod Marketplace and Loughborough stores.
