There are other mandatory schemes to come in, such as looking for work 35 hrs a week--to be tracked online.

The plan is for all jobseekers to do ALL jobseeking on-line and make jobcentres a thing of the past.

this means they would have to give everyone a computer and internet at home or provide centres that guarantee everyone access to a computer with internet for 35 hours.

Those in minimum-waged, part-time jobs of less than 35 hours a week risk losing their benefit unless they attend job interviews with as little as 48 hours' notice.

if you work 16 hours or more you dont sign on or claim dole. so how can they be sanctioned when theres nothing to sanction and they dont even attend the jobcentre.

:rotfl: Yeah, but true i'm afraid.
I personally know a JCP worker who confirms it.
    Wow!

Couple of bottles of wine
    Season Ticket at Arsenal
    Roses :) (flowers, not chocs)
    Pyjamas :o
low cal biscuits (had mentioned losing weight)
    Holiday in Bermuda:eek:
Bottle of whisky (not a good one)

Not all of these are true. :rotfl:

Actually, I remember a time when the father of someone whose claim I was trying to resolve told me "this is the problem with the public sector. In business I could take you and your equivalent from the other office to lunch and we could sort it all out."

when you get to my age, you will be somewhat set in your ways of thinking - stubborn

tend to become less of a "team player - selfish

don't suffer fools quite so much as when younger - bitter

    Absolutely correct!.....
    in other words.... WISER.

Will be interesting to see how they intend to implement this....not only the computer issue, but the fact that it takes less than an hour to jobsearch online---so 35 hrs is ridiculous-- and they know it.
A person who has no computer can only use a library (if they have one) for a limited time....and if they use an internet cafe, it will cost a fortune to use for 35 hrs a week.

Did you know that jobs advertised in UK--inc those on UJ site (and they estimate the number of jobs to be 800,000!) now have to be advertised in the EU countries?.
Yes....no wonder that companies would rather employ eastern europeans than UK citizens....cheaper to employ.
You will not see many EU vacancies advertised in the UK.

Oh, and Monster International (who are US company) who run UJ--are based in Utah USA.
The worlds biggest data spying centre is now near completion, costing multi billions of dollars---and based in Utah.
This is due to become operational in September this year.
Our personal information, which we put on UJ---will be going there.
They have the capacity to see ALL electronic media communications...inc e-mail, texts, telephone calls etc.

If people require more info on this, I suggest doing research. Don't
    bombard me with silly comments.
GCHQ, in Cheltenham, UK is doing the same thing--and is also an extremely large facility.

You will surprised what goes on within these companies.
You may have been a worker in within the Jobcentre--but you may have been unaware of certain practices.
Your particular place of employment could well have escaped these "incentives".... was it on the Moon?

So the clerk made a MISTAKE, big deal.

Interesting how you think it's acceptable for Job Center staff to make mistakes, yet if a claimant makes a mistake they get sanctioned and lose their benefit.

Do people ever read the declaration they sign to apply for benefit? Do people not realise they are liable for prosecution if the provide false or inaccuarte information? And people on here are encouraging people to lie or bend the truth in order to recieve benefits.

Hardship is a very last resort, you have been sanctioned for not complying with JSA and have nothing else avaible to live of or no other means to support. Bank account should be checked first, yes I apprechiate not always but read the form and see exactly what evidence you may be asked to provide.
And if you get a second sanction yes it will stop hardship payments and people will need to re-apply.

Can anyone confirm that this has actually happened to them whilst claiming Hardship? Going by the terms of what hardship is(a safety net to stop people from starving etc.), the jobcentre should have no right to stop the hardship payments, but only be able to increase the time of the sanction that you have to wait to claim full JSA payments again.

I don't doubt that similar 'incentives' have been going on for years and years.
