I assume you no longer criticise JC staff for their behaviour.0 -

Even if you have a resource to use, tell them you don't. That's what you said.0 -
Hi
I understand that for a single person, hardship payments are not paid for the first two weeks. Is this the first two weeks after you've applied? Or the first two weeks since the benefit stopped?
Many thanks0 -
It's first two weeks of benefit been stopped0

Do people ever read the declaration they sign to apply for benefit? Do people not realise they are liable for prosecution if the provide false or inaccuarte information? And people on here are encouraging people to lie or bend the truth in order to recieve benefits.
Hardship is a very last resort, you have been sanctioned for not complying with JSA and have nothing else avaible to live of or no other means to support. Bank account should be checked first, yes I apprechiate not always but read the form and see exactly what evidence you may be asked to provide.
And if you get a second sanction yes it will stop hardship payments and people will need to re-apply.0 -

sanction lengths are over the top and often for very minor things.0 -

Can payments be backdated? Do I apply by going into the JC? I have struggled to find info on how I can actually apply0

You will need to obtain and fully complete a JSA10 form from the job centre and return it with an up to date bank statement to prove you are in hardship. The award of hardship will be made from the date of application only and would not normally be back dated.0
