Yep, I deposited mine at a Natwest about a year ago. No charge.0

Were any of you asked by M&S on to why you wanted to order Sterling TC whilst you are in UK? If yes, what did you reply?0

I said I was going on an extended business trip when I bought mine (after all, you can't spend £9K on week's holiday!).
You may also be asked why you're paying them into the bank (I was). Of course you'll say the holiday/business trip was cancelled.0 -
Or you can just say you're taking advantage of an offer from M&S. Theres no law against it, it's a promotion by M&S and then just paying the borrowed money into your bank account.
I don't get the need for all the stories and secrecy :undecided0 -
I'm looking into taking advantage of this offer from M&S, I have applied for the card already and today called my branch of RBS to see if they would accept the travellers cheques and was told as they are sterling travellers cheques they would be treated as cash, so no fees for depositing them and will reach my account on the same day :jDFBX2016 #024

As I have written before, I am going to try to take advantage of the M&S offer as my first attempt at stoozing.
I have applied for the card and checked my bank will accept the travellers cheques.
But does anyone have any experience of how long the process of issuing the M&S card takes? I called their customer services number yesterday and the operator seemed a bit confused, first said it took 2 to 3 weeks and then saying 10 days?
In any case it seems like a long time, my past experience with other credit card companies seems to happen almost immediatelyDFBX2016 #024

Hi guys . I've been carefully working through this thread and a couple of others, digesting how this all works. I haven't read it all.
I'm going for my first Stooze (or trying to). I think I will try it with the M&S travellers cheques and putting them in my HSBC branch, then transferring the money to an ISA (which I'm still deciding on but have an idea which ones are probably ideal).
I don't understand something though. It's probably quite simple but I really don't know so could someone explain please?
When I buy the travellers cheques are they supposed to be in foreign money? So am I losing out on a conversion rate too?
Or is that why they are called stirling travellers cheques? Are they written in pounds and then (theoretically) transferred once I arrive to my destination?
I swear I don't know. I always thought I'd have to get say Kronor cheques if I were going to Norway for example. Someone explain please
Edit: I forgot to ask also, are have you been getting the M&S points you can collect as well?0 -

It will not work with foreign ones. Make sure you order STIRLING travellers cheques from M&S. This means they are in pounds, no conversion rate necessary and qualify for the offer without any charges.
As for the M&S points, you dont get these for TCs, only for actual purchases. But you do get various money off vouchers every so often with a statement.0 -

Thanks. I just rang them and I was denied anyway, haha.
I wonder why though. I haven't had a credit card before or much debt. I'm wondering if it's because I'm unemployed and only get £3,600 per year.0 -
