M&S travellers cheques

I did tell the LTSB manager what I was doing because I had so many tc's to sign at the desk I was causing a hold up and was invited in to his office to finish signing there. He was very impressed and tried to sell me their ISA to put it in but it wasn't as good as the santander one I had already chosen.0

Exactly. I dont get all the secrecy and made up stories when people do this :undecided0 -
By the way, I paid £3600 worth into HSBC with no questions asked and no fees applied0

Hey I have just got the M&S card and am going to be paying of my dad by giving him some money in the form of their Travellers cheques.
I was under the impression that the travellers cheques counted towards the 15 month 0% interest so I could save up and pay in month 14. But on the website it says that there is only 55 days' interest-free credit which has confused me a little??0 -

Hi, yes the travellers cheques count as a purchase so are eligible for the 15 months 0% deal.
The 55 days is the maximum amount of days you could have them before being charged interest if you were not on a promotional rate, so basically is irrelevant to you until your 0% deal ends. So if in 15 months time you purchased some more, you would only have until the payment date of the statement they are on (which will be up to 55 days from when you purchased them but probably closer to 30 days).:)0 -
Awesome thanks for clarifying that blitzboy, now just got to wait for the card and see what limit they have given me.0

Don't forget that sterling TCs incur a 1% fee...still much cheaper than a balance transfer or SBT, however :beer:0 -

You may be in for a bit of a wait, took a few weeks for mine to come through!
Do you have anything telling you the card number yet? I rang customer services once i had a letter with the card number (account number) on it and the automated system gave my available credit there. I wasnt ringing for that, so it was a nice surprise0 -
Thanks guesswho2000 I had know about the 1% and on £2500 that's only £25 which is a damn site better than all the other cards. Hence me going for this one, just hope there is no hassle with my dad's barclays account when i give in the cheques!!
And thanks for the tip blitzboy as I do have a letter with my card number on so will give them a ring and see if they say my limit. Did you just call the customer services number or another one?0 -

Yes just the normal customer service number. Before it read out the options it gave me my available balance:)0
