Hiya shavy. Don't worry about rED, it's your friend. It just means you've started to export leccy, so the meter is warning the meter reader that something 'unusual' has happened. As you have PV, it's fine and normal. Once triggered rEd will flash away now forever 24/7.

There is a tiny chance that your meter could be recording export as import. Keep an eye on it, and have a read of the FAQ section 4, the NB near the end:

    Mart.

Great! Thanks Mart, nice to hear. I did give SSE a quick call this morning and they confirmed this! Pheeew. I was just a little concerened as my elec usage doesn`t seem to have dropped, if anything maybe increased a little (maybe that`s coz of me pestering the wife to use stuff through the day and she`s been using more stuff than usual!haha), but it`s only been a few days, and not even that sunny so it`s prob too early to make a fair comparison. I`ll continue to monitor though!
Got to say I`m nicely chuft with my new toy

the 'O' doesn't give any meaningful comparison.

I`m following the general concensus here, most people using the O`s instead of £`s.....
Anybody know of, or use, a sort of Solar PV Forecast website? I`m really bored at work ;)

Post 'O's all you want. I'm just letting you and anyone else being misled that it is meaningless for meaningful comparison between different systems.

But isn't posting £ just as meaningless for meaningful comparison? because different people are on different FIT rates

I'm able to use O's for meaningful comparison, and happy to share this skill with you if you want?

Just post any two different 'O' numbers, and I'll happy tell you which one is bigger. :D

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.
  • But isn't posting £ just as meaningless for meaningful comparison? because different people are on different FIT rates

Yes, for comparison of different system's performance. I have never said otherwise.

    As is the 'O'.
