Got it right first time groovyf.....:rotfl:

This may be of interest to either or both; http://www.diykyoto.com/store/assets...gue_UK_web.pdf good quality build, you can see what wattage you have spare from your panels. If you want to maximise your generation on appliances, Optiplug & Optimmersion are certainly worth a look...:D

Thanks for link to that Wattson device. I actually got a GEO Solo meter thrown in though only shows a "tick" on the display when generation is over 700w (recommending then is a good time to use heavier appliances). My only issue... transmitter isn't powerful enough to reach to the display where I want it! (in living room).
    That Optiplug looks interesting too.

Groovyf - I got the Geo Solo Mater thrown in too....as well as the immersion link up, and extended 10 year warranty, guessin u got the same kinda deal???
Anyway, I was considering adding a Wattson device to show what my house is actually using. The Geo Solo is nice but isn`t very practicle as it only shows what`s been generated and not what we`re comsuming.....therefore we`r not making the most of generated units.
Any thoughts on best way ahead for us who only have the Geo Solo?

Ask your installer to exchange Geo for a Wattson, to be polite offer to pay any cash deference (Not very old so he/she may just do it). OptiPlug needs Wattsons transmitter fitted to work.

Ask your installer to take it all back and give you a Wattson and install a Optimmersion

Thanks for that, I already use an immersion link up (Solic 200 I think it`s called), theory is amazing, but as its only been in for 3 days it`s too early for me to comment on it`s function.
I`m def looking into the optiplug though!

    thanks

As said above, for OptiPlug to work, it needs a Wattson transmitter, perhaps time for a change of plan with the installer as it's all new. Good Luck. Most installers are fair, if you offer to pay any difference, they have usually supplied the cheapest, but not the best.......

1.75 O's for me yesterday, quite happy with that!

I do like the look of that Wattson device... wouldn't mind advice on whether to get the Easifit option or not - will take a pic of meter cabinet when I get home (and upload), so you can see how it's wired up.

  • Following on from a record breaking January, I have now experienced the best February generation since my system was installed.

    2011 - 42 kWh
    2012 - 65 kWh
    2013 - 58 kWh
    2014 - 72 kWh

    PV Output
  • £129.15 for February (266.5 kWh) :)

    34% over PVGIS. :T

Nearly 100 kWh over last Feb, but not as good as Feb 2012.

Now 3 months in a row over PVGIS estimate, that hasn't happened for nearly 18 months.

From what I understand is if you have a 'Henly Block' fitted then fine. (ask your installers advice) If you do not, then you will need the 'easy fit' which, from experience is easy to fit (hence the name I guess). Mine was done directly to the consumer unit, and works perfectly. I tend to watch Wattson more than I do the TV (sad). :rotfl:

You beat me this Feb: yours 54.545 O's compared to my 53.56 O's :bdaycake: If I was one for bragging, I would post 133.9 kWh..but like a level comparison...:D
    0.48 O's today......Could see that coming thanks to Wattson.........coffee.gif

I have no idea why you persist in trying to mislead people that the 'O' makes a level comparison between different systems.

You have nothing to brag about, if anything your 'O' should be favouring your system this time of year with your steeper roof (Ignoring all the other factors that the 'O' doesn't take into account). Which sort of proves my point....the 'O' is meaningless to compare different systems....
