Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

Feb was Fab for me, well better than expected by PVGIS
ESE 88kWh 44.9 O's £42.50ish (PVGIS 76)
SSW 99kWh 48.5 O's £48.60ish (PVGIS 94.5)
WNW 51kWh 20.5 O's £8.05ish (PVGIS 47.8)
Each system was up over estimate
On the downside I bought 336 kWh from the grid(about £47) and 53 units on the gas meter 1666kWh(63.79)
So my consumption outweighed my generation this month by about a tenner, hopefully March will turn that around and be the month where I start increasing my bank balance
Off to a good start for march as it is as my 3 systems at 8.15am are knocking out over 1kW.2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -

Been a good Feb this year with 179.9kWh or 110% of target.
For comparison purposes, I got 32.24 Os.
Full breakdown:
ESE 129kWh (110kWh 2013) 109% of target and 36.03 Os
WNW 50.9kWh (41.2kWh 2013) 113% of target and 25.45 Os
Leccy import down from 200 in Jan to 156 in Feb (Mch target 130).
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

2.1 O's yesterday:D
Feb 2012 40.5 O's or 162kWh
Feb 2113 30.5 O's or 122kWh
Feb 2014 43.5 O's or 174kWh ...last week in the month took me just over PVGIS:T16 Sanyo Hit 250s.4kWp SMA 3.8kWp inverter. SW roof. 28° pitch. Minimal shade. Nov 2011 install. Hybrid car. Ripple Kirk Hill. N.E Lincs Coast.0 -
Funny how it was the wettest winter on record but also seems to have been the sunniest since we got our panels installed.
Feb was 193kWh which substantially beats 2013 (118kWh) and just nudges past 2012 (190kWh)

finally at home yesterday on nice sunny day - noticed then when system generating 3-4 kw my supply meter runs backwards - started day at 440 and finished at 427 - called edf and they have arranged for meter to be changed later in month - how do edf work out electricity bill when meter constantly going back and forward??0

I don't believe they can work it out. How long you had the panels in?
I've read of several people who have just had the bill cleared as there's no way of knowing what your bill would be
I'd actually be looking at why your exporting 13kWh in a day, do you not have an immersion tank so you could direct your spare exported leccy into the hot water tank instead.2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
February 2014: 90.25kWh, less than 1% below SAF PVGIS.
February 2013: 77.63kWh.
February 2012: 103.54kWh.
Best day: 22nd, 7.61kWh. (While I was in Malta!)
Worst day: 6th, 0.31kWh.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0 -

Our 2nd years generation came to 1835 kWh = £884.77
1st year was 1822 kWh = £849.79
Calculating yearly bills, this is what we paid
£225.00 electric
£000.00 gas disconnected
£190.00 water rates (metered)
£145.50 T.V. licence
£200.00 buildings and contents insurance (down by £99)
£ 94.16 R*C breakdown cover
£854.66
£884.77 FIT payments for 2nd year
£ 30.11 left over
Note for Tunnel:- Insurance £99.00 cheaper than last year as changed to a different company and got the same amount of cover. Kick up backside to shop around thanks Tunnel!!!!
After the kick from Tunnel looked in to our car breakdown policy. Renewal for A* this year was £212.69 so have changed to the R*C, now cost is £94.16 for exactly the same cover (includes new customer and on-line discount) So I can now cover car breakdown in my figure for this year. Due to the fact that house insurance was £99.00 cheaper. Thanks again Tunnel.
We are still very pleased with what we are generating even though we have real shading issues over the winter months.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather today.

hi tunnel - panels have been in since end november but its been pretty cold and grey in scotland last couple of months - thursday and friday were two of few sunny days over last 3 months - generated just under 300 kw since install - unfortunately we have gas combi boiler so no hot water tank - will wait and see what edf do re electricity consumption prior to changing meter - wondering what would have happened had i not noticed - assume they would have cottoned on eventually? but as my fixed price tariff expires end april was planning on moving supplier anyway - i assume there is no problem having different energy supplier from company that pays FIT?0
