People don't want black and white kittens.

I was actually offered a maine coon from the local CPL but decided against him as for some reason I didn't warm to him.
Instead we got a gorgeous big black and white cat from another rescue centre, he just looked at me and asked me to take him home! I have to admit to being a little 'lookist', e.g. I did want a cat that was pretty and I didn't want a white cat (as was invisioning endlessly removing the white fur from the school uniforms).
My black and white cat looks just like the pictures of Beth and he is much admired by friends (one threatens to catnap him as he is so lovely).
We've also got a lovely tabby with beautiful markings that my daughter chose (she really wanted a kitten but I prefer to adopt adult cats as they are harder to rehome). My third cat is black and silky, she came from a relative that died so I didn't choose her colour but she is very beautiful too.0 -
Daisy's coming down with the sniffs & sneezes again....8-(0

Mine is NOT a black and white cat as that might provoke accusations she's associated with the evil that is Newcastle United... she's white and black! Also three-legged for added harder-to-home factor... the product of ringing a rescue saying you're a sucker for a hard luck story.
Mind you I also have a black and tan dog, and a black greyhound (of the particularly threadbare and bedraggled variety so the sort you'd expect to hang around in rescue for ages)... so I seem to be destined to get the slightly harder luck pets.
I had cream carpets once upon a time.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
my little guy is black and white, you can see him in my avatar there <--
He's the most affectionate and loving cat and so cute. I did have another white and black male who was also really loving and affectionate but he's no longer with us
Before then I had a female who was a mix of a tabby and tortie and so grumpy!!
I love love love black or black and white cats to be honest, although any time I get one the personality of the cat is what clinches it - Quackers (my current cat) chose me, definitely!carpe diem

Hiya Spike! I think Daisy is a Domestic Short Hair? (i.e. moggy lol). She doesn't quite have the attributes I would associate with a BSHBut you are correct in that DSHs (and BSHs) are renowned for their great temperament
I hope she is feeling better soon, by the way

Black & White kittens are beautiful, this is my princess
She's a right little Diva, but beautiful as anything I have ever seen. Although I must say, I didnt adopt her from a charity as I contacted a few and told them I wanted her to be a house cat with only access to the garden under supervision and they told me to go and buy one instead as this is not natural for cats, so I bought this beauty instead.0 -
Black cats are my favourites. Followed by black with a tiny bit of white....
It could just be pure practicality that makes a B&W less appealing.
After all, they will ruin/decorate both white and black clothes equally.
And if the white is on the nose or the ears, they're at as much risk of skin cancer as a white cat.
I wanted a black cat. But I got a tabby demon instead.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

They don't help themselves sometimes, do they! It's not natural for them to be stuck in cages either!!0
