i wasnt bickering. i was just pointing out the one of the alternatives lakeuk mentioned wasn't 'ethical' either.0

I just telephone Virgin Media and asked what discount I would get when I lose Sky non prem channels, I was promptly told "none". I did say I was currently paying for these as part of my monthly service. No come back from CS. She did tell me to call 0800 0521 139 for more information.
Virgin Media staff also said that the loss of these channels was not 100% yet and that customers would be updated asap.
I will be sticking with VM as Sky are just scared of VM and are bullying them. Its a sad day when companies have to bully each other.
No bullying is my thoughts in this day and ageIf I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -
Im sick of that kingmaker/policy maker Rupert Murdoch and his propoganda empire that is Fox News, SKY, THE SUN, Times, Sky News etc.
Slightly off topic but the last few prime ministers have been petrified of Rupert Murdochs propoganda outlets. They have to wine and dine the man, get his approval, before vote factors. Even Gordon Brown is grovelling upto him.
Back to topic.
If Richard Branson can outmanouvre Murdoch and bring the mind numbing propoganda & dumbing down channels away from the general public the better.
Given the facts behind current sky media content / Sky "news" reporting id rather not listen or watch such utter dribble.
Bang away Branson...I couldnt care a jot about Lost or 24 but I will miss the Simpsons.....good job I have uncapped download with Virgin Media, I'll just download the simpson...wont cost a penny more.0 -

Just want you all to SMILE!(pah, thats prob not poss).

Could be waiting for a long time if it's due on the 30th FEB!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
this is terrible news!
oh and btw I wasn't aware there are 30 days in Feb :P
I am currently subscribed to VM formally known as Telewest. I am extremely happy with the level of service they provide and will not move to Sky just because they have taken their bat and ball home.
I have been a customer of Sky and NTL and only moved to Telewest because NTL wasn’t available in the area I was moving to (despite what its website stated :P) and besides they were looking at capping my connection.
The only channel I tend to watch is SkyOne, it would be ashamed to see it go since I’m a addict when it comes to the Simpson’s, Stargate, BSG and Star Trek. But the majority are repeats so I’m not too bothered – only when it comes to the new series.
I think most people will just attempt to download their favourite programs via the internet as it doesn’t cost an extra (at the moment). I wonder whether Sky realises that they are indirectly encouraging illegal activity.
My advice is just to sit back and see what happens…0 -

Get a mate to tape the show of sky,
Buy the official DVD series
Get your local library to buy it and borrow (rent) it off them
I don't know anyone who has sky so they can't tape it for me, I don't have a video either.
I don't have the extra money to buy the series and why should I when I paid for it with my initial subscribtion.
Re the library, it is quite a long way from my house, I'm disabled and not easy to get there. Not having a dig at the OP just pointing out that not all the above options are viable and not acceptable when you are paying for a service.
Well I only had it all installed on Friday and no one told me this was going to happen when I rung them to upgrade (I already had the phoneline) our sky is still on but goes off at end of the week. I think that I will cancel under my 30 day option as I am totally miffed. I would rather pay more and get what I want I don't like the virgin media set up anyway, the horrid small black and white tv guide which I can hardly read and have been told cannot be altered, the awful delay when switching channels and the fact that during the Arsenal Chelsea match today the bl**dy box turned itself off for 10 mins and then came back on with no sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrr
Oh well looks like I have to go grovel back to sky.0
