Just seen the advert on sky one, ha while I can still see it that is, it's awful how ruthless the money grabbing Murdock can be, is he afraid of some healthy competition, after all he still gets the money for the sky channels from Branson.0

ClaireDC, so do you work for sky then???0

What little respect that I had for Sky has just gone down the drain. Complete bunch of t*$sers! They can keep their channels for all I care. Fair enough I watch 24 and Lost but it's nothing I can't wait a few months for. By doing that you can get them from Blockbuster, Lovefilm or Screenselect when you do one of their 3 months for the price of 1 offers and watch them at your leisure.
Or you can download them as other people have said. Either way I won't really miss those Sky channels and I would prefer that they get dropped if it means we can get some other channels or other services that are of more interest.
What I really want is the Sky Sports Hi Definition channel on Virgin. Fat chance!0 -
Spoke to cust services again this morning, apparently virgin are in the process of creating their own news channel to rival and replace sky news, also she said and I quote 'all content which customers lose which is not directly made by sky will be regained and replaced in the near future by virgin'. Hmm so maybe they will battle it out for the rights to show all the top shows. Good on Branson, going to stay with them.0

I do wish people would think before jumping ship to Sky... it's EXACTLY what they want. I'll be gutted if they pull Sky One, but only for a couple of programmes and I get very upset about blackmail, so wouldn't touch Sky with a barge-pole now! On top of that it's more expensive - I pay £30 for TV, phone and broadband, and although Sky are advertising their alternative for £27 (I think), you still need to pay for a BT line too. Nope, if it's got to cost me more, I'd rather save up and buy the Lost DVD's when they come out, or download the programmes. Grrrrrrr!0

Unfortunately there are some of us who are stuck with sky as I am - not in a cable area, therefore sky is the only tv subscriber! I have a £15 tv package with sky, and my boadband and phone with ntl which is costing me £24.99 + line rental. I am going to switch to sky broadband, talk and tv for £25 - saving £14.99 a month!0 -
I really couldn't care whether Sky channels are shown on Telewest..sorry virgin. There isn't anything that I really watch on there anyway. However, at the moment I am paying for Sky so I would expect to see a reduction in my bill when I no longer get it. Virgin has said they have no plans to reduce bills! Since the rebranding my bill has gone up and my service is going down at teh end of the month...mmm value for money?
Secondly this is a terribly piece of marketing. Virgin knew the contract was under review so why not wait until losing Sky before rebranding, thus not sullying themselves with this event. 'NTL/Telewest lost Sky, but we're Virgin now, things wll get better etc etc'0 -

Same here as far as no cable access.
I'm actually about to contact Virgin to find out when exactly they are thinking of putting it in near me!
I currently pay £42.50 per month for just Sky+ and both Premium Packages.
Believe me, if I actually HAD a choice to go elsewhere I would. Unfortunately Sky know I have no alternatives so can get away with any price they want!0 -
its not definite yet, if we DO loose any channels it could be for a few weeks then they'll be backNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Just to point out to you that your 'unlimited' download with Virgin is, infact, limited by a fair usage policy.Never buy a stupid dwarf -
