My DS would miss the Simpsons if Sky one goes, but that wouldn't persuade me to switch to sky. The simpsons is about the only decent thing they show.

But he can watch that on Channel4

Won't bother me at all EXCEPT for being part way through 24 hours. Anyone know if there is any other way of getting this programme.

Virgin may buy up the next series of 24 and Lost just to annoy Sky

They may well do that but, it would be a little too late.. They'd have lost customers already. Instead of 'faffing' around they should be trying to keep their customers happy, I'm quite surprised they're willing to lose so many customers.

Erm extortionate costs: Haven't Virgin just increased prices?!?! :rotfl: So much for savings and keeping the cost low. If they've increased the price now, I hardly see them then dropping prices if Sky One is removed
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

I am annoyed at Telewest for not letting us know that they were being taken over by Virgin Media. When my direct debit came out of my account this week, i had a right go at my bank for money going to Virgin Media, which I hadn't spent. After 2 more calls I found out that it was Telewest, surley they should of had the decency to tell us, how many more of you had this problem. This however doesn't mean I will be binning them off.

I got a letter explaining that my DD would be marked as Virgin Media, perhaps yours got lost in the post?

Don't want to be forced into moving to Sky, but we're halfway through Lost, 24, Nip Tuck, BSG. If anyone could tell me how I can watch these without moving to Sky I would be eternally greatful.

I imagine that Virgin Media are aware that they will lose some customers if they are not carrying the Sky basic channels, but they may feel that overpaying for the right to do so will put them at a competitive disadvantage-not least against the Sky Digital platform- that would ultimately stand to lose them a greater number of customers when passing the costs on.

Unscientific, I know, but in a poll that's been running on Digital Spy, the results so far are:
    As a Virgin Media subscriber.....

I want Virgin to pay up so I can keep Sky One etc 201
I want Virgin to stick to their guns and I'll survive 733
    Digital Spy Poll

That's around 78% of Virgin Media subscribers suggesting that Virgin should "stick to their guns".

Digital Spy article: "DS poll sees Virgin Media gain support"

Sky will not want to pass away the opportunity of income that carriage of these channels on Virgin Media generates- particularly whilst their profits are being "squeezed" by huge infrastructure costs in building a broadband network- so I think that there's still a strong likelihood of a deal being reached.

basially virgin in the form of r branson is miffed at being outmanouvred at the itv share thing and scrapping sky channels is pathetic tit for tat. very playground, and at the risk of bad taste whats the betting sky news are running round the clock updates on the virign train crash....
