I have to say if we lose sky one then I am off to Sky as I am an addict for so many of their programmes. I have held back from trying to get a better deal friom virginmedia as I did not want to be tied into a contract . My last 12 months contract has long since expired, so can jump ship as soon as is necessary. I shall be watching closely.

I'll be expecting this would be the case for anyone, 12month contract ended or not. If they pull the channels then they're not sticking to their side of the contract and customers shouldn't be expected to either
We will leave - not sure I could put up with BF moaning about no Stargate, Lost, 24, Simpsons, etc :rotfl:
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

  • I can't believe this, we will have to move to sky then as we can't do without Lost. We have been loyal NTL now Virgin media customers for years, right from the start when NTL was called Cabletel. I don't know what they are thinking on as I think they will lose a lot of customers in doing this:mad:
  • Virgin may buy up the next series of 24 and Lost just to annoy Sky
Always looking for a bargain and to help
  • Sky are trying to force Virgin to pay double the fee for carrying their channels, which considering Sky has been losing viewers is a bit extreme, to say the least.
I'd be gutted if I couldn't watch 24, but I don't think Virgin should give in on this one. Especially as in the long run they will have to pass this price rise onto their customers.

Moving over to sky is just what Rupert Murdoch want's you to do. You'll be playing in to his hands.
    Come on you Irons
  • Rather than everyone jumping ship and playing into Sky's hands, we should be applauding Virgin for standing up to Rupert Murdoch and his bullying.

It's quite refreshing for someone to finally stand up to Sky.

    Rant Over lol

    this is from digital spy:

Sky is "surprised and disappointed" by Virgin's "premature" announcement that Sky's basic channels would be withdrawn from Virgin TV at the end of this month, the broadcaster claimed this afternoon.

I think that the context in which Sky's "surprise and disappointment" should be considered, is that it were they (Sky) who broadcast announcements to Virgin Media customers earlier this month, whilst negotiations were ongoing, stating that "these channels could soon disappear".

No way in hell I'd move to Sky after they pull this kind of stunt.

Instead, I'll just have to resort to t'internet to download the shows I like (24 & Lost). That way, Sky lose out completely.

I won't be changing over either, I'll be supporting virgin for trying not to pass extortionate costs onto me, contacting sky to tell them what w@nks they are for screwing the little man and that because of it I'll never use them. I think everyone should do the same, and I agree that virgin may buy up future series of our favorite just to stick it to sky.

  • My DS would miss the Simpsons if Sky one goes, but that wouldn't persuade me to switch to sky. The simpsons is about the only decent thing they show.
