I actually have a fake 2gb pro duo in my psp. Strangely it worked fine for ages and has the full 2gb on there.0 -
You could get an Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS (Total: £464.97, although the Xbox 360 was £149.99 recently, so it is sure to drop to around that price shortly - making the total £424.97) for about the same price as the Playstation 3!0

Who needs one of these modern games consoles anyway?
Get yourself a second-hand Spectrum or Commodore 64 for a tenner, and a copy of Skool Daze. The graphics aren't brilliant, but there's more playability than you'll find in a hundred modern games.

You know, with Nintendo bringing out such cheap consoles over the last 2 generations, I can see why people would not pay above £300 for a console. I remember loving my Sega Megadrive and bought the Sega Saturn for £400. Had a few regrets doing so, but at the time, whilst expensive, other consoles were in the £300 region.
Things change I guess. These days, I wouldn't pay more than £150 for a console. I'm waiting for the XBox 360 to drop to this price point in its premium package or close enough.
I guess its different though now, as I keep the console to play occasionally than in the days of the Megadrive and Saturn I was a diehard gamer!

at the moment, many dvd players are multi region enabled or can be modified (so whats the point in region coding???) if someone wants to see a movie, which is on at uk cinemas now but already out on region 1 dvd, and they would rather watch it on their £3000 system (made by one of the fat cat manufacturers who want regional coding) why shouldnt they be able to buy the dvd instead of forking out £10 or £15 quid just to watch it once on a crappy cinema screen then wait 6 months to fork out another £15 to buy it on uk dvd.
with blu rays regional coding being unbreakable (allegedly) wouldnt people faced with the choice just go down to the local car boot and buy a perfect dvd rip of the movie, region free, and then wait a few months for the uk blu ray version (if they bother at all after waiting so long for it) another option would to be to invest in the american hd dvd version as this would be better value than a r1 dvd.
fat cat companies are getting far too greedy.

Thats the list of compatible games. It's fairly small many have known issues with them.Well done Sony  .
It doesn't help them either that Devil May Cry 4 is also coming out on the 360.
Saying that, the PS2 is an amazing machine. Might get one now as they are cheaper.0 -
Thanks for that Issen my son is saving up for a PS3 at the moment and as he is only 9 doesn't have enough money to buy new games every week so will be hoping to play his old PS2 games on it as well. Looks like most of the game she has will work0
