Very clever,I think sony will struggle for a while - at least until they sell it at a reasonable price,I bought a ps2 when they were £250 if ps3 were priced the same ,I would look at it....I would love some decent telly on a Saturday night0 -
surely best option is to buy from u.s.a as blu rays from there would be cheaper0

I never understand the backwards compat debate..
I mean you wouldn't buy a HD tv and expect it to play none-HD programmes in HD would you?
Or Buy a New model car and expect it look and drive the same as the old one.
If you wanna play your old PS2 games.. play them on your PS2!!
Also - how many have actually bothered playing the old games on the new machine??
Very low percentage according to https://www.gamesradar.com and https://www.computerandvideogames.com0 -

no but you might expect it to run on petrol/diesel.My signature has been removed by the authorities. If you have been affected by the issues raised in this signature, please contact the Action Line on 1-800-THEY-NICKED-MY-SIG.0 -
You wouldn't expect it to play then in HD, but you would expect it to atleast play them. If your HD tv couldn't play non HD programs, you'd need two televisions... which is the only point with the PS. With my Wii, I don't have to keep my gamecube hanging around, can be traded in/sold etc.
Having partial compatability means you're going to have to hang on to your PS2 for those remaining 20%.
I don't know about everyone else, but the large amount of devices gets tedius. Its not a problem for myself since we just have a Wii and a NTL box. But my parents have a VCR, a dvd player, a PS2, a digibox (one of those hard drive top up tv ones) and a GC.... of course they choose to have all of those things, but if they then wanted a PS3 it would be very inconvient to have to hold on to the PS2 as well.~Diminutive0 -
Sony seem to operate in their own world.
The Launch of the PSP was heavily delayed due to the company I work for.
It seems that before trying to launch the PSP, Sony neglected to check the trademark and found we already had a product called PSP and had been the registered trademark owner for several years. You can't help but think if you were doing an international product launch and spending a fortune doing it you'd at least check you had the trademark registered first eh?
Hence legal complications while they tried to force us to give up the trademark. Which we reluctantly did and renamed our product instead. (Sony have many many lawyers).0 -
Ive been in two minds about my preorder but this was the push I needed to cancel my preorder. £425 saved0

£425!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone who spends £425 on a toy is crazy. £199, that's the absolute max, or £299 if it was revolutionary and utterly groundbreaking. But £425.0
