Evening all,
Never brown sauce Jimmy! :eek: Ketchup or mayo all the way (tartare if it's posh and someone else has cooked it!)
Busy day today doing work and various jobs. Posted the ebay parcel, dropped some jars round to a lady on freecycle, who it turns out is a comper on here! We had a lovely chat! I even *finished* my work (i.e. there was a period of 2 hours when I was completely caught up! More has since arrived!)
Had a good win today. Our Dyson has not been as good recently (we've done all the obvious stuff to make it better) and I called up to book a service, thinking I'd have to pay. Turns out it has a 5 year guarantee, so it will be free! And booked in next week. I was very impressed with their customer service man too.
I also booked a couple of tickets for my mum and I to go to a talk at the library from the children of Jennifer Worth, the author of Call the Midwife. It was £7 a ticket and includes a cuppa and cakeI've been wanting to go to a library event for ages, so am pleased that we've booked this.
MS things:
* Couple of YG surveys
* TV survey, MS rewards, SBs - 13
* Saving on Dyson service
* Free parking when paid in cheques in town
Gratitudes:
* A car today as DH has a hire car, so have been out and about
* Sunshine :j
* Evening class now

Hope it was on pre-sliced white bread themadvix???????
Glad you've had the all clear, sorry missed that you had on ongoing issue. Did they check for chondritis? My DD has had that and it has very severe symptoms :eek:, but fortunately just muscular.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Happy to report i had a fish finger barm last night, with lashings of brown sauce...I'll claim its a Northern male thing!! And whilst we're discussing the merits of sauce... bacon was certainly designed solely to go with brown sauce...MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Mrs E must be a secret northerner - in our house I have ketchup and she has brown sauce - a roll and bacon with brown sauce is an abomination in my eyes :eek:
Just as long as we agree that ketchup is ketchup or tomato sauce - !!!!!! is "red sauce" :mad:0 -
Gally - no bought bread here, so it wasn't the sort you're thinking of, but it was white and I did slice it
Ed - I'm with you on ketchup or tomato sauce, not 'red', but I fear you may have opened another can of worms....
Jimmy - I don't eat bacon, so that's a moot point!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Afternoon all!
The sun is out, it's vaguely warm and I'm feeling all domestic goddess because I've cleaned my fridge this morning! :rotfl: I think the length of time since I last did it seriously exempts me from domestic goddess status! :eek: In good news though, the jar situation isn't as bad as I thought... DH can help by decluttering the last pickled onion (I mean, why would you leave just one in the jar???) tonight and we're having curry, so will use up the open tikka masala paste and some tom puree.
This morning I baked orange biscuits to use up the sad orange... The recipe required zest, which I think the orange in question had lostSo they are very gently orange biscuits... but still yummy. Recipe made loads and I used up the plain flour (topped up with rye, so the biscuits are healthy, surely?), so using up the mincemeat to make mince pie slice (mmm, seasonal!) will have to wait.
Have had my card etc. through for the Hali switch and the Nw donor account is marked as switching on online banking, so it all looks good. Might have to have a look-see as to whether the bonus has been paid yet - I've heard that Hali are good at that.
Book finally listed on Am seller account, but I'm so confused about the fees... who knows what they pay these days. Unsure whether to try listing some of the others through there, or to wait and see how things work out for the first one.
MS things:
* VB poll, SBs, MS rewards all done
* MM survey
* Used up last of very sad cabbage in dinner last night
* Chopped up ends of bread for freezing as croutons (uncooked)
* Heating off all day(it was on this morning, but that ends with the clock change (unless it snows again.... which is apparently possible...)
Gratitudes:
* Sunshine :j
* Walk tonight with DH
* Many, many kitty cuddles.... such a clingy cat!!

Does DH also leave sweetie wrappers in the box? :rotfl:
I think that you have raised an important metaphysical question (or possibly the title for a bestselling self-help book "Can an orange lose its zest?"0 -
No, strangely he doesn't and if I were to (not that I'd ever be that irritating/lazy :A ), he'd be annoyed.
I'd argue that, yes, even oranges can lose their zest for life!
Have just checked Hali and the £125 is sitting very happily in there :jMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Afternoon all!
KC - yes, I'm certainly feeling things are good at the moment, although lack of work today makes me worry a bit.
Not a lot happening here today - have cooked and portioned chickpeas for the freezer and roasted some with oil, salt and cayenne - hadn't tried that before and they're very moreish. Sold a DVD on Ebay for a grand total of 57p after fees and postage. Still, it's better than Ziffit/MM! Tbh wasn't expecting it to sell - it had come to the end of its listing yesterday and I just relisted and it went. Here's hoping a few more of the ones on there do the same as they end. If not, I'll give them a shot at the boot sale mum and I have agreed on and failing that, a CS can have them.
DH and I have been making a semi-concerted effort to watch a bit less TV this week. We'd got into the habit of bingewatching two or three episodes of NCIS or similar each night and it was beginning to feel like a) every night was the same and b) life was passing us by. So we're trying to cut down. Monday I listened to a podcast and did some colouring, and DH investigated beer recipes; Tuesday I had evening class; and then last night I did watch Supervet. Tonight though, DH wants to play some guitar and I'm going to try and fix the sewing machine/start a sewing project. That's after a quick trip to WR and a walk! Can't wait for the clocks to change - the evenings will be so light!
MS things:
* VB, SBs (inc survey), MS etc.
* OP up to £18.05.... nearly halfway there
* YG survey
* Prepping chickpeas
* Dinner is squash risotto to use up the squash and the last of the cream cheese (was going to chuck it yesterday, but it looks and smells ok....). Will also add some quinoa and sherry to use up too
Gratitudes:
* My clean fridge is now full of lovely fresh veg (veg box came this morning)
* It sounds ridiculous, but still loving having a 'finished' house - the cats now have much more free rein and the house feels much bigger
* Am working my way through the Simple Living thread on OS and Crumpets's diary as well as Tilly's. So much inspirationMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
