    Thanks all!

Just a quick note to say I had a good day of using up stuff - found a thread in OS which mentioned adding some quinoa to risotto, so risotto contained 1oz quinoa instead of some of the rice (we tried quinoa but didn't really like it, so will use the rest a bit at a time doing this), some sherry instead of wine (which we'd been donated for our wedding (5+ years ago) and hadn't opened) and the cream cheese! Also getting closer to emptying a bottle of rum (sadly it's really rough stuff we got on our holiday last year and makes a great planteur - I'll miss it when it's gone!). Also baked loaves for the week and some hot x buns.

Otherwise, it's snowed here, so DH hasn't worked on the car (he'll take a day off in the week instead) and unless the snow has gone by the morning, sadly I don't think we'll be going to the seaside :( In between baking, I spent the day sorting out guide badges to sell on behalf of the guide hut... What else is there to do on a snowy day?

Hope everyone else has had good, MSE Saturdays!

    Afternoon all!

Well today I had my hospital appointment about my heart and basically having waited 6 months and then 1h 20 mins after appointment time I was told pretty much what I expected, that there wasn't anything wrong with me. I'm not overly impressed by the delays - I do wonder what they'd have found if they'd seen me in November, but there we are. The doctor told me I'm free to do as I wish in terms of exercise, etc., so that's what I'll do. I am happy about this but he didn't really address the fact that I'm still having occasional pain. Anyway, time to move on, unless I have any more issues.

Had a lovely if freezing day out yesterday. Visited Mersea Island and had a lovely breakfast in a cafe there, followed by a couple of very chilly walks! Took a flask and snacks, so apart from breakfast, parking and petrol, the only expense was some prawns and crayfish tails which we brought home for lunch and dinner today/tomorrow. Delicious! :)

Fortunately the project I was expecting to arrive today hasn't, so the deadline for it has been extended - it might not arrive for a couple of days now. Pressure is therefore off a bit on the other thing I'm working on.

    MS things:
    * DH's ebay items all relisted except the one that sold
    * Mum took me today, so saved on parking
    * VB poll and MS rewards done
    * So tired last night we had easy tea (fish finger sandwiches :D), so menu plan will last an extra day. Have been very pleased to note that have hardly touched the 'quick and easy' stuff in the freezer since the last food delivery - have been using other (fresh) stuff up noticeably better. Will try to maintain this.
    * 2 pints of milk cancelled this morning, as plenty in the fridge still
    * S&S and FOTG submitted on time!

    Gratitudes:
    * Lovely sunshine today - to admire from indoors - *bitterly* cold still!
    * Delicious breakfast out yesterday - including bubble and squeak :)
    * Enjoyed a change of scene and the exercise yesterday - pity about the cold!
    * A clean bill of health :)

I'm glad they can't find anything wrong, madvix. Now that that's out of the way, are you going to investigate it with complementary health therapists?

On a much more serious note ... fish finger sandwiches :p OMG, I hope you had lots of butter and lots of ketchup :j
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • One of the country pubs not too far from us has a fish finger sandwich on the menu, so it is posh pub food now :D

KC - I'm not sure, I hadn't really given it any thought. I think I'll see how exercise goes first. It may just be I'm very unfit and need to build my strength up.

ETE - Fish finger sarnies - I think it's great they're posh pub food now, quite often have them! :D And KC, yes, lots of ketchup and butter.... less posh than pub ones I think!

I'm glad nothing untoward has been found Vix, it's a shame you had to wait so long to find out though.
