    Morning all,

    Sadly Jimmy, cars are very much a fact of life in our house - and we'd like more than the three we have! :eek: Glad it's passed though, and it's in a much much better condition than it's been in for quite a while - even before the fire last year, so it's nice to have it back.

    Feeling rather sorry for myself this morning. This cold isn't shifting and a major client hasn't paid what is a rather large bill so I'm looking at another month of eking money out/dipping into savings instead of topping the savings back up. Have sent a rather stroppy email as this is not the first time and I'm currently extending them quite a bit of credit, having had a very busy month this month. Another client hasn't paid a (much smaller) bill either, but she'll just need reminding the once and I'm hoping she'll settle it today (and possibly pay the invoice just submitted too) then I'll pay myself and things won't be quite so bad!

    Had a lovely meal at the in-laws last night and ate waaay too much. Felt quite sick afterwards, so it was a while before we came home! MIL has given us an egg each, so I may have been consoling myself this morning with some of that.

    Signed up to N3ctar canvass last night at Busy Mee's suggestion. I haven't qualified for any surveys yet, but have earnt 6 points in disqualifications - this mortgage will be sorted in no time! :rotfl: It's another way to earn though when watching TV (or DH is watching something I'm not too interested in).

    Not a lot else happening moneywise. Will do the money shuffle later today, once I've ascertained if client will pay me today. And popping to bank to pay in a cheque and some cash from sale of something on FB (can't remember what now, the money has been sat in the sheepbank for a while).

    MS things:
    * VB poll, SBs and MS rewards done
    * YG oracle survey done
    * £4.49 TCB payout claimed - inc a declined amount for my mum's Christmas present - impressed with the speed with which that was resolved!
    * Took rhubarb out of freezer on Saturday... must remember to make crumble tonight!
    * Will cancel veg box as there's stuff left still to eat

    Gratitudes:
    * Nice walks yesterday with DH and discovered something local to us that we didn't know existed
    * Lovely meal with in-laws
    * My car works :) DH has taken it to work to give it a good run, so I've got the one with heated seats! :T

    Have a good day, all!

    Evening all,

    Just a quick update to say my day has improved - feeling better; nice client did pay both invoices at once, so have paid myself and been able to improve savings a little :); I have been assured that payment will be made today by major client :D and I found 10p (in coppers) on the floor when out with Mum earlier!

    I have two reg savers due to mature - one tonight and one on Friday, so once I've got the interest from these and scooped up all the other bits, I'll update my savings totals.

    Sadly, I didn't win big on the PBs, but will eagerly check tomorrow to see if I've won 'small'!

    Have a lovely evening people! :)

    Morning all,

    No small win on the PBs, but have opened a new Nw RS saver. Sadly I can only put £250 in each month this year, instead of £500. Santa RS will be the same as previously though (£200). Have transferred the 'holding' funds (due to go into the RSs) into my T3sco account as it's 0.3% more than I'll get from my Nw loyalty account. I think the phrase is 'every little helps'! Have also realised that I'll get 1% on my bills account if I continue to cycle £1000 through it, so have amended 'money to-do list' to cover this too.

    Savings deficit is now just £1017. Due interest from Santa RS on Friday, so that should take me well under the threshold. Also £5.45 due from TCB, and awaiting £3 from Hali and £5.90 from Santa. Should get £100 from DH's Nw switch on 9th too.

    If weather is significantly drier then Mum and I should be doing a boot sale at the weekend. However, as the field was waterlogged last time, I suspect it won't be dry enough (and forecast is for rain on Sat too). So it might be the following weekend... It's a pity as that would be a good boost to the coffers.

    MS things:
    * VB poll, MS rewards, SBs (slowly creeping up)
    * OP @ £19.05
    * Meter readings done - £34 in debit.... heating firmly off now!
    * Have arranged dinner with a friend for a place we can use Leisure vouchers for Sunday. Have quite a few social occasions coming up, but aiming to keep spends low.
    * Found a fiver in my coat pocket.... not sure how long that's been in there, but safely nestled in the sheepbank now :)

    Gratitudes:
    * There *was* sunshine this morning..... and forecast says it'll be back tomorrow
    * Rhubarb crumble for dessert last night - and enough for tonight too :)
    * Cold is slowly going :)

    Must have a think and set some targets/plans for April. It's going to be a very busy month and May isn't looking any quieter!

    Have a good day all x

    Is the rhubarb from the shops, madvix? My rhubarb is growing, but nowhere near ready.

    On the regular savers - there are some who don't need a current account to let you do it - I opened one with Virgin Money last year, its just coming to term next month. Still not a fantastic savings rate, but a lot better than anything else on the market.

    Hooray to getting paid, and to the cold going :)

    Hey Karma.... no the rhubarb is from the garden via the freezer.... maybe last year, maybe the year before.... We have a triffid-like plant and there's always *so* much!! (ETA to say that I even managed to sell a few bunches of it at the boot sale we did last year!)

    Thanks for the tip re regular savers - will investigate! (ETA: looks like Virgin is 2.25% which doesn't beat leaving it in my 1.3% easy access over the term. Think I'll leave it for now. Hadn't considered Virgin before though, so will keep an eye on the situation.)

    Wow! Am impressed with the efficiency of your freezer :)

    Glad the RS account thing may have helped.

    See above!

    Re freezer, rhubarb isn't at it's best, but it's edible and a box out of the freezer... and let's face it, it's main purpose is to serve as accompaniment to a) crumble topping and b) custard!! :D

    Evening all,

    Just a quick one to say that I've now meal planned for the 9 days - includes two meals out, but using vouchers for both :D Have the £5 I found in cash to use for tips... hmm, might need to break that, it's a bit awkward asking for change for a tip!

    Also have a list of expected expenses for the month. Dad's birthday present is in hand but need a card for him and a friend, and a wedding card for a wedding DH is going to at the beginning of next month (I'm away with the Brownies). We're off for a night away in a couple of weeks, so need to factor that in too. May order some more LVs from S&S. Short food shopping list, none of which is urgent (apart from loo roll and onions). If other friends who I've contacted about meeting up get in touch then menu plan will need adjusting and there may be a few extra spends (for one if not two of these get-togethers it'll be the bargainous Turkish place - £6 for huge lunch including drink).

    Other than that, it's save, save, save. Plenty of food in freezer, even once menu plan has ended, so will be continuing to eke out the £90 delivery we had last month. I have virtually nothing saved in my holiday pot due to our trip to Ireland in Feb, so will need to top up holiday savings for June in the next couple of month too.

    Off for a walk with DH now. Have a good evening!

    Morning TH,

    It's lovely today, but it certainly wasn't yesterday and forecast is still ropey for Saturday, but here's hoping!
