Morning all,
Lovely sunny day today, so one load of washing is already out, another due to finish soon and I'll get another one on after that (taking the opportunity to wash the bath mats as it's so sunny!).
Our walk last night took us through the town centre, where there were lots of delicious-smelling restaurants. It took a great deal of self-control, but with meal plan in place (and dinner quick and partly prepped), we resisted. Knowing we're out tonight helped, I think!
Not a lot to report moneywise - still waiting for rewards etc. to hit accounts.
MS things:
* MS rewards, SBs, NV survey. No VB poll yet today - they're late!
* Cheese straws baked for DH's lunches this week
* Will have ends of loaf for lunch (eggy bread is such a good way to use these up)
Gratitudes:
* Nice but wet walk with DH last night,
* Sunshine
* Walk planned with mum later and then out with DH tonight.
* Our Brownie holiday activities choices have been confirmed by the company we're travelling withexciting stuff!
Have a good day all - enjoy the sunshine!!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Cheese straws sound yummy ,i could just eat one of those0

Delia's cheese savouries recipe, in her classic collection (or whatever it's called). Dead simple, but I imagine fairly unhealthy - 4oz of cheese and 2oz of butter with just 2 oz of flour! DH likes savouries more than sweet snacks and this way I'm less tempted and he's more likely to remember to take them. Not that temptation is an issue at the moment - we seem to have a million creme eggs, so have just scoffed one of those! :rotfl:Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I can only buy cheese straws as a treat at Xmas, homemade sound seriously dangerous, I'd be the size of a house if I lived with you :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Haha NG, fortunately DH is one of those annoying people who never seems to put on weight, despite eating huge quantities of food - one day I'm sure it'll catch up with him!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
The sun has disappeared! It's still dry though, which is a blessing. More washing to go on the line today. I'm sure us MSErs must cause a spike in electricity use when the sun comes out! Sadly today the share of UK energy generation won't be as high from solar though - I love this site for seeing where energy is being generated. It's windy at the moment!
Had a lovely afternoon/evening yesterday. Three mile walk with mum in the afternoon around some Humphrey Repton parkland that really hadn't changed that much since he'd landscaped it.Then in the evening went for a short walk with DH and had dinner at Pizza Express - 2 courses for £9.95 voucher, and paid for with MS rewards, S&S LV and then just DH's drink and the tip on his card (I was virtuous and had water :A ). Waitress dealt with the plethora of vouchers admirably
I told my mum we were off out for dinner using a voucher code and paying with vouchers (and I didn't even go into the fact they were two different types of payment voucher) and she said she'd have to start calling me 'tight MadVix'.... I pointed out that I just know where my money is best being spent (i.e. on the mortgage)! And she's the one in RL who tends to agree with my principles most. So not sure if I'm becoming a bit too Scrooge-like.... I don't like people to think I'm a spendthrift though!
Car boot is cancelled tomorrow, so that solves the dilemma of chancing it in the rain. We might be able to do next weekend - depends if mum has a social thing to go to or not.
MS things:
* VB poll, MS rewards, SBs
* TCB £5.44 and Santa £5.90 transferred to savings
* £5 TT (? think the roundness of this might be pushing it!) to savings - puts me under £1k owed :j
Gratitudes:
* Great walks and quality time yesterday with family
* Gorgeous views and weather - vit D was definitely topped up
* No Brownies tonight - a rare Friday treat

You're doing the right thing, madvix, I was commenting (on here?) the other day about layering offers - no, I think it was on PP's thread - you did really well with the meal out! But it might only be mse-ers that understand.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
