Gah! Why do they do it! Gassing the little darlings AND burning money! We were stationary on the A27 for an hour and three-quarters last night (closed by an accident just ahead, so someone was having a way worse evening than we were) the engine went off as soon as we worked out it wasn't going to move at all.

It drives me mad too - there's a primary school round the corner from us and I actively avoid going out when it's drop off or collection time - both because of the air pollution itself and the fact it makes my blood pressure hit the roof! When I see people leave an engine running and they have their window open or have even got out it takes all my self-control not to reach in and turn the ignition off.... DH says this could be construed as illegal, but so is leaving your engine running!! I long for the day when all cars have stop start technology and/or are electric (just think of the verges - they'll return to being wildlife havens!
I have posted the Vinted parcel back. It cost me £4.20 - I'm going to ask for a contribution towards that from the seller as the items weren't as described. But according to vinted it's on me to pay my return costs - surely that can't be legal as the items were faulty/misrepresented?? Why on earth should I be out of pocket?!

Doesn't seem right, does it - if you challenge it, though, is there the issue of bad feedback? Unfair, of course, I'm just wondering.2023: the year I get to buy a car6

I don't know, but I'll be taking it up with Vinted themselves as it's their policy. TBH, I may not use them again if they stick by such a stupid ruling - it's not as if you don't have to provide photographic evidence of all the issues you have with the item.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Stonehenge sounded fab - I didn't realise you had to book!5

You don't have to Ed, but it's recommended (and some gobbly-de-gook about it guaranteeing a parking space - only an issue in the height of summer I imagine as we didn't even see how this would be monitored!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I think it was me that mentioned booking for Stonehenge - it's booking those early appointments, before it opens for the day - 24 of us booked one September, to be there at 6am, and we had 90 minutes before we had to vacate so it could be pristine for normal opening. Ah so you did. That’s an entirely different sort of occasion though - and would be fabulous! One day maybe.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

When our son was at the prep school up to age 11 there was one parent who used to drive her Mercedes estate from the other side of the railway bridge, round to the school and park diagonally across the gates on the pavement so she could open the passenger door and they stepped out, straight into the school playground. Apparently they were too precious to walk over the footbridge (fully 200m as the crow flies) and all on the pavement. And it was OK for everyone else to have to wait while she disgorged her three. It was not me who complained, honestly.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

We bought a house literally one street away from our primary school so that drop offs would always be easy. It serves a fairly wide area, so I absolutely get that people need to drive their kids to school, go to work etc. But being in the nice suburb, it's all gas guzzling German cars (well that and the British 4x4 gas guzzlers vital in the wilds of 5 miles outside of Glasgow city centre)
It is more common than not that people sit with their engines idling - maybe their children's lungs are heartier than mine? In fairness to the HT, I have seen her out telling people off on more than one occasion, she is a badass!
We have our version of @Suffolk_lass person, too. A statuesque blonde with a child at nursery and one in the primary school who reverses down the road to the school and parks her mahoosive urban tank directly across from the entrance of the school. Some people are just entitled tools. Either that or they're missing all the road markings and signs in neon yellow.
