Thanks BB, yes, I'll certainly be giving it as gifts
Have collected a whole load of fruit and veg from an Olioer (she had more than I'd originally requested), so my fridge is now heaving. I ended up with more carrots than expected too, so the neighbour is having some. Unfortunately I've done the water test on the eggs and only one is worth risking. Will have to pack the others up before lowering into the green bin!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

SC, yes, our council are always efficient, if not always entirely accurate - several years ago I asked them to repaint the 'keep clear' in the turning circle (which protects access to our drive) - they were out the next day, but repainted the wrong bit.... And, like you, I should get back onto them....Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

If you grow them, the French breakfast radishes are best. They are milder and grow long rather than round. The trick is to water them every day once they start to swell as lack of water makes them tough, strong flavoured and woodySave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Morning all,
Thanks for that SL - like Karma, I should probably grow some as they are easy and quick to grow.
We've had four seasons here so far today - started with rain, turned to sleet, then snow, started settling and now it's gone and we have blue sky and sunshine! The timing is fortunate as I'm about to head out for a walk to collect some bananas and rolls for lunch.
Order of the day is work, plus some packing for our trip away tomorrow.
Meals wise, we had roasted cherry tomato and thyme risotto last night (and it was delicious if I say so myself!). Lunch is going to be egg mayo (DH has gone into the office again - he didn't get home until 7 last night 😏) on a roll I'm about to collect. Dinner will be shakshuka I think - I collected several peppers yesterday that could do with eating. I'll chuck some greenery in too - either tenderstem or spinach or kale.
MS things:
* YG survey
* Lots more 1P and PA surveys (inc. signing up for a longitudinal PA survey - hoping I get that)
* Heating is down to 16.5 and I have my thermals on
* Free food
* Clicks done
* 98p 'seller's' fee from selling MIL's bike on Ebay - I just rounded the money to send to FIL down to the nearest £ - he wanted me to keep it all, but I know the incentive for them to clear out more will be the money they make, so they can have it and we'll have less to clear out when it all falls to us!
Gratitudes:
* The weather has been interesting but I'm glad it's nice for my walk!
* Yummy dinner (with free cherry toms and hg thyme)
* Nice, communicative ebayer - not always a given, and a straightforward collection, given that I wasn't there!

Morning all,
We had a lovely, if rather tired weekend away (neither of us is sleeping well at the moment). Stonehenge was fab - really recommend the audio tour app you can download to your phone. We had gorgeous weather for it too, if a bit windy! Had a wander around Salisbury in the afternoon but didn't stop for long as we were both tired and wind-blown. We bought pasties at the Stonehenge cafe for lunch, which were really tasty and at £5 each, not overpriced. For dinner we stayed in the hotel and just had a main course as we'd popped to the nearby Tesco and bought reduced apple turnovers for dessert. We had breakfast at the Tesco, which was distinctly below par, but a case of what do you expect really. Survived the rest of the day on snacks (taken with us) and came home in time for a bowl of cereal (for me, DH didn't fancy anything). So not a hugely expensive weekend away really. We visited Bath on Sunday - hadn't been before - and loved the architecture. We'll definitely be returning at some point for a proper stay. I also got the battery in my phone replaced while we were there (handily the Apple store was the first thing we saw on emerging from the car park!). It's been in need of replacement for a while and they happened to have an appointment available, so I got it done - it saves DH taking it into the MK store at some point or me making a special trip over there.
Today I've done a couple of platform jobs, a long PA survey (beginning of a longitudinal one, so worth the effort) and collected some bananas, grapes and brioche buns from an Olioer. Have also done some sewing, and in the absence of any more work, will continue with that for the rest of the day - may even finish some bunting to sell - that is the aim!
MS things:
* took snacks/bought snacks
* clicks done
* comps entered
* NV survey
* PA surveys
* free food
Gratitudes:
* Stonehenge was very cool
* Quality time away with DH
* Blue skies here this morning

Sounds wonderful! I've been to Stonehenge *once* when it's not windy, one of those dawn bookings where you can still go amongst the stones, but you have to book months in advance. What I'm envious of is the pasties, they sound great! And what a good idea to buy a main at the hotel and have your own reduced rate desserts, thats actually quite a saving.
Enjoy!2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
Thanks ladies
Jess, it did strike me as somewhere that is always windy - would have been nice if it had been a touch warmer though.
Apparently I've been to Stonehenge before! Spoke to Dad earlier - he even thinks my sister and I may have sat on the stones! I have no recollection of this though.
Karma, the pasties were excellent - mine was cheese and onion and unlike other veggie pasties I've had, it wasn't excessively peppery - I like a bit of pepper, but not so much that it's all you can taste!
I'd like to say that the buying of dessert was entirely intentional but we wanted snacks and decided to wander aimlessly around Tescos as DH didn't actually know what he wanted - then we found the chilled reduced section (it was very Olio-reminiscent!)! We also bought our drinks there too, so I just had a water in the restaurant (proper cheapskates, although DH did have a beer!).
I've done some sewing today (one piece of saleable bunting nearly finished, a second started) and now have work from my European client. It's amazing how much more productive I am after a decent night's sleep - I am seeing the doctor about this/underlying related issues on Wednesday, so hopefully some progress can be made on that front.
Ooh, and at last my £28 TCB from our stay at the Malmaison has been paid (I did wonder if it might not, given we did pretty well out of it!), so when that hits the bank I'll split it between pots.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Glad you enjoyed the trip away Vix, love the fact you don’t remember going before, holidays are wasted on kids 😆
I didn’t know you made bunting, are you making any for the queens jubilee? I’d love to buy some that’s not plastic 😬
