I do remember most holidays, so this must have been a very long time ago - my Dad had a friend who was down near Salisbury (MOD), so maybe it was when we visited him and his family? Or on the way back from a Cornwall or Devon holiday... I'm surprised I don't remember it - I'll ask Mum about it later and she'll probably say it was before we were born! 😂
I make bunting from vintage (damaged) embroidered tablecloths and linens... it's time consuming but they are beautiful! (Which I'm allowed to say as it's not my hard work that's made them so!) Not sure I have any in jubilee colours though!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
NG - I should point out that I've yet to sell any - I've made for family from my Nan's linens, and half made a present for a friend (who donated me some more linens), but actually finishing any to sell... not yet. (Partly time, partly enthusiasm - my work desk is also my sewing table, so it's a faff to get it all out if I'm expecting work to arrive imminently.)
My European client's project is now in full swing, so he's keeping me busy. I've also applied for another (freelance) position that I'd be a good fit for, so will hope to hear back from them.
Dinner last night was mac and cheese to use up some free cherry toms. Tonight will be stir fry I think, as there's a few bitty bits need using in the fridge. Tomorrow is apparently National Pizza Day, so I'll be making pizzas!
My walk today will involve collecting two parcels from the Hermes parcelshop - baby gifts from Vinted (BNWT - acceptable under the rules of Nothing New in '22).
MS things:
* Clicks done, no HW win today (2p yesterday 😂)
* RM survey has credited me £5 for CD survey
Gratitudes:
* Good chat with Olio friend (exasperation with collectors, but mostly positive)
* Have arrange coffee with a friend for Friday - we are long overdue a catch up
* No evening class tonight - but I must do at least something on that front
* Replacement battery in phone is *so* much better!
Have a good day all!

Ooh, that's a problem! Wishing you a brainwave to solve it with a previously under-used side table, or a lovely diy solution from Mr Madvix

Your little HW wins sound ideal - is there a thread on here, please?

Hey Karma!
Sadly I don't think there's an easy solution to the sewing machine table situation. There's not room. In any case, my desk is a lovely big size for laying out tablecloths on, so it works quite well (I just push laptop and monitor right to the back, so I can even keep an eye on things whilst sewing). I think if I can get my health sorted to resolve the sleep issue, it will all seem less of a faff too.
My 'HW' is the L4dbr0kes Instant Spins - should be easily findable on their homepage. I've had at least £50 out of them since the summer. You might win spins, a bingo ticket, credit for a couple of games - and you just play through that restricted credit and then stop. Sometimes (like today) you have a 'no win' on the instant spins wheel, on others you might win a few £ on the fruit machine type things. I've just about got enough knowledge to be able to do it - but no more! Obviously not one to try if you might be tempted further though. Don't know if there's a thread on here - I suppose it might in the MBing stuff, but it was from a FB FI group that I heard of it.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks madvix - don't worry, I'm not tempted by the gambling aspect, more by the free money
when I've got a few more of this month's tasks under my belt, I'll give that a go, thanks.

Afternoon all (had to check, it was exactly 12pm),
Karma, I wasn't aiming the warning at you particularly - I just feel it always needs to be mentioned!
Am ploughing on with a tricky piece of work for my European client this morning, around putting out bread parcels for Olioers. One of my US clients has been suspiciously quiet for a while now, which doesn't bode well - I hope I'll hear from them soon.
Lunch will be leftover Spanish lentil soup, with a bit of free bread (DH is in the office). It's National Pizza Day today (no idea where I read this yesterday but probably from something money saving/money earning), so I've made the dough for those (long-prove version). Will use the stuff we have in stock to top them I think.
Had a phone call with the doctor this morning about my medical issue and they tried to fob me off, but I've persuaded them to talk to a colleague and they're going to get back to me later today, so hopefully will investigate further.
MS things:
* Clicks done (no HW win today)
* Stir fry used up various bits last night (but then I only ate half - it really wasn't very nice IMO - DH ate his though)
* Small platforms jobs done alongside work for main client
Gratitudes:
* DH thought my stir fry was nice!
* Sunshine here
* A maple and pecan pastry for my elevenses!

Hope the medics realise they need to take further steps for your wellness.
And ach, you're right about mentioning the potential problems on HW - the very first time I answered a newbie question about matched betting, I made light of the issue, and it turned out it *was* actually a live thing for them. I'd forgotten that ...
Good luck with the too-quiet client.2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
Thanks Karma. The docs have graced me with the privilege of a face to face appointment a week on Monday - they actually want to touch me! 😮 While I think an initial phone appointment might be acceptable in some cases, I do think we should be being asked when we book what we’d prefer - it’s ridiculous!
Too-quiet client is American, so it’s always a case of what happens while I’m sleeping. But I finished the tricky piece of work, have another similarly tricky piece from another client and have picked up an €800 job for delivery next week on top…. So you can guarantee the Americans will *all* send me stuff overnight! 😂🙄😮 It’s great to be busy though!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Man has arrived to fix the dent in my car (at my own cost as the delightful soul never contacted me about payment, nor have the police pursued the case). American clients stayed quiet overnight, and European one has peeped yet this morning, so I'm getting on with this big platform job - it is quite interesting fortunately!
Opened the parcels from Vinted yesterday evening and one is fine, but the other has various things wrong so will be going back. Seriously peeved about this as it's time and apparently my own money too - why I should be out of pocket for a missold item, I'm not sure, but apparently that's Vinted's policy. Not impressed. And I now have to get something else before next weekend. Grr!
DH says he'll probably be late home tonight, but hoping to do toad in the hole for dinner, along with lots of veg (use by date stuff that tesco managed to include in my collection yesterday). Lunch will involve the free loaf from yesterday and an egg, I imagine.
MS things:
* TCB arrived and I sent £20 to DH for the weekend; £9.44 split between anniversary and holiday pot
* Clicks done, 25p won on HW
* Heating turned down as it's me on my own
* NV survey done
* 1P surveys done
* Oh and I spoke too soon, European client has just sent me something!
Gratitudes:
* Work!
* A long day to get lots done
* Car man is very nice - remembers coming here previously!

Oh man, I know the Internet is a dangerous place once you leave the confines of the lovely MFW forum.... made the mistake of asking a work-related question on a work-related forum (which is well run and held in high esteem) and forgot that people like to stick their oar in where it's not needed and comment on things a) they don't actually know anything about and b) you didn't ask them about! Aaaargh! (I was looking for a factual answer and only got opinions.)
Super busy with work - European client and two small bits for another US client, and still ploughing through the big platform job (which is where the issue was). Still, progress is being made. Need to go out for a walk shortly though, before I lose the sunshine. Just letting the schoolkids (and their idiotic parents who leave their engines running) disperse first.
