Morning all,
Oh Cheery, that sounds awful - I'd hope they'd put you on a 'do not summons' list after that experience. Glad to know I'm not alone with multiple summonses though. I remember thinking that those who had done it before seemed knowledgeable - that'll be me now!
Have been to feed my furry friend this morning, all well there. DH has gone off on an overnight business trip, which is weird - it's been 15 months since that last happened! I'm meeting a friend for lunch later (with a packed lunch) and then might go to mum's for dinner - but she's got her second jab today, so we'll see how she feels. I have the hybrid car while DH is away(possibly not so MSE as I may have to put petrol in it!) and I've got some tins of soup to collect from an Olioer later. Still on the lookout for hot dog buns for the weekend, so will be keeping an eye on it for the Wednesday Food Waste Hero's postings later.
A few bits of proper work to do this morning, which is nice (and more than I was expecting).
MS things:
* Clicks done
* AppleCare sorted for my Airpods - I *need* accidental damage cover and after a check, this was by far the cheapest option
Gratitudes:
* Lovely chips at the pub in the sunshine yesterday
* Time spent with Mum, Sis and Niece
* my furry friend wrapped himself round my legs as I was sorting his food out today - mine don't do that because they're too busy jumping up onto the counter if they're allowed in the kitchen, so it was a rare treat!

Your little furry friend sounds wonderful - so great to get paid for that experience
OTOH, the jury service sounds horrendous, both timewise and Cheery's of how the defendant reactedit hadn't occurred to me about being called on for that. I was called *once* - and literally, the letter arrived the day I was moving out of my previous house! When my phone was working, I phoned them up and said, um, I don't live there any more, and they let me off.

Afternoon all,
That was a close call Karma! I actually quite enjoyed it last time, but it didn't involve any gory details and we came to a conclusion fairly quickly - I can imagine that if things were less cut-and-dried/it was particularly horrible, that it would be quite a different situation. That said, all the waiting around is quite tiresome.
Just a quick pop in to say I've bagged a Food Waste Hero slot on Olio, so I'll be collecting regularly on a Monday from now on.I get to keep 10% of what's there, so that'll be good. Looking forward to making a difference though mainly.
Had a lovely lunch with my friend and bought some (expensive) delicious doughnuts for pudding tonight at Mum's. Collecting some tins of soup on my way to Mum's too (Olio, of course!).

Morning all,
Had a lovely evening at Mum's last night and came home with some very old lentils of various types - I think they'll need pre-soaking. We found a post-it on the bottom of one jar (they were all in glass jars with cork lids) that said Red Lentils June 2002.... now they might have been topped up since then, but equally, they might not - the post-it would indicate the jar hasn't been washed since then!Nowt wrong with them though, so will just make sure they get extra long cooking time. Between those and the tins I picked up, it feels like a lot of free food!
Have cat visited this morning. Am hoping that as they're soon getting his sister too, they may want to retain my services in the future - I'm cheaper than the cattery, even with two visits per day! He's such a friendly soul and very easy to look after. (Which reminds me, must mention my services to a friend whose daughter lives near me and has recently acquired two cats...).
Lunch for me today will be baked beans on toast, using up the half tin of beans from DH's lunch the other day and the end of an Olio loaf. Dinner is pizza as I found half a jar of sauce languishing in the fridge which definitely needs using. Work is quiet today, so I'm going to get on with some sewing. I've got a shift at the vacc centre later too. Veg box has arrived and been put away. I've put some chickpeas into soak to make houmous for the weekend (with the IP you don't need to soak, but for houmous they do need to be totally mushy, so it will help) - we're having DH's family for a BBQ (probably in the cold and rain). Will also pick some rhubarb to make a rhubarb and red currant crumble (last year's red currants, so good to get them out of the freezer before this year's start to arrive!).

Never been called for jury duty. DS did, aged 18 or 19 and pleaded student in FTE and they deferred it. I have always assumed I never will be called.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I did find the whole process really interesting (and they paid a fixed fee for lunch, but I took my own - very MSE!) The case I mentioned was the first one of the fortnight I think - I think we had a couple of days of evidence via video link (because of the grim nature of the case and the witness not wanting to be in the same room) before the incident.
But then we were put on other cases over the next few days - one where someone said something they shouldn't have said in front of the jury so they had to start again with a new jury (we never even noticed what they'd said wrong!) and then another about an assault in a pub toilet, where the judge basically told us what to find. Interesting stuff but I'm not keen to repeat it!4 -

Morning all,
Final visit this morning with my furry friend. He's so lovely - I do hope I get to see him again.
I've had a reasonable amount of work this morning (i.e. more than I was expecting), but am now up to date. B&W cat and I have a vet's appointment shortly for the litter tray issues, but it's more of a formality so that we can get a behavioural referral. I'm collecting a loaf afterwards to go with our Olio soup for lunch. It's hammering down and cold here, so soup seems entirely appropriate!
Weather forecast is looking marginally better for tomorrow, which is good as we're having DH's family for a BBQ (complete with northern-living brother and family). I need to buy the meat and am keeping an eye out on Olio for more rolls - we have a small stockpile.
MS things:
* Free lunch (who said there's no such thing?!)
* Clicks done
* Cat sat
* Work up to date
* Have houmous and pesto to make (when DH isn't on a call - his 'office' aka the dining room is next to the kitchen) - houmous will use up tahini (and we have all the ingredients otherwise) and the pesto uses the carrot tops from the veg-box carrots)
Gratitudes:
* Some lovely texts with friends yesterday
* The weather is looking better tomorrow (whether I'll be able to cut the grass beforehand is another matter)
* Friendly chats with my new Olio pals (you get put in a group chat with the others who collect from the same store) - so excited about my first collection!
