Thanks both. Sadly no luck with the vomit, and the X-ray showed the wire to be in his small intestine. So he's having surgery this afternoon. I'm glad he's insured (cost will be about £2000 in total - including an overnight stay etc.), but I'm just worried about him really. They'll ring when he's out of surgery, but it probably won't be until 6 or 7 this evening.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all, just a quick one to say naughty cat is back home with his cone of shame - wire was in lower intestine, so having partially opened him up they're leaving it to him to get it out!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Nightmare! At least it is passing through him. Hopefully it won't take too long but the cone means you might be compensating for his inability to clean himself properly for a few days...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Morning all (again),
Thanks everyone for your concern and well-wishes. He's doing fine, but you're right SL, we'll be having to groom him. He's quite long haired and parts are already getting a bit matted (glad I trimmed his bum a couple of weeks ago!). The vets didn't make any mention of whether he should be discouraged from jumping, but I assumed he probably shouldn't - clearly he has other ideas though as he's been on top of our wardrobe already this morning! His brother was highly suspicious of him and there's been quite a bit of growling and hissing, but I think he's beginning to realise that it's just a funny smell and a funny new headdress! The cone of shame has to stay for 10 days!
All in all it was a rather traumatic day yesterday - with a chaotic lunchtime interlude with Sis and Niece in garden too. And then I was late to my evening class (zoom) because of collecting him. He slept with us on our bed last night (for much of the night on me), so not a good night's sleep either.
If he seems OK and they both settle down, I might go shopping later! Only need a couple of bits in JL, but looking forward to the novelty, even if I'm really not much of a shopper. Work is all quiet, although expecting a small project tomorrow.
MS things:
* Cat insurance (the bill came to £1485!)
* Clicks done
* Olio collection (pastries for breakfast this morning)
Gratitudes:
* Ginger cat is home and doing well (and back to his usual self)
Have a good day all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
