That's pants Vix. But I'm sure something else will come up soon. And with your current house sold you'll be really well placed to proceed when it does.

That is a shame. Keep looking. We lost our dream derelict and have stayed put about three years ago. It was only when we came off the market that people in the Village started telling us how glad they were that we are not moving. It has sort of changed the way we feel about this place.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Hey Vix, just been catching up and saw that you’re looking at Tesla’s.... lovely cars, which one are you thinking about going for? We got our Model 3 last September and still love taking it out for a drive....5

Hi Lulabelle! Oh definitely Model 3, our budget wouldn’t stretch further than that. Good to know you’re pleased with it. Do you have full self-drive? The test drive one did, although we wouldn’t get it to start with - it was weird letting it stop and start at the lights!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

We have the performance but we don’t have full self drive. My business added full self drive afterwards to his and I drove it the other day... it has a few benefits but it doesn’t fully self drive, it’s a way off being able to do that here in the UK. I use my partial self drive a lot when I’m on the motorways, especially if stuck in traffic and it’s great. We bought ours before they were available in the UK, so didn’t have the opportunity to have a test drive or anything like that!!!My insurance is double what it was for my bmw but since we bought them through the company, the savings that we make on company car tax and fuel etc car outweighs the more expensive insurance.Ideally I would have liked the Y, but since there’s no date for that being available in the UK and the fact that we were impatient we went for the 3. It’s an awesome car!!5

Morning all,
Thanks Fortune and SL - that's an interesting perspective SL, and lovely to be appreciated. I think our neighbours like us - we've definitely all become a bit closer and chattier since the pandemic, but it's the location (and the noisy new neighbours.... swearing loudly with the windows wide open and just generally being loud; that said, they've not blocked our drive again since I asked them not to and they seem a bit scared of me!)
Lula, I was corrected by my DH about the self-drive/autopilot situation as soon as I posted. I'm finding basic cruise control in the Audi entertaining, so I guess I'm a long way behind with all the variations! Interesting about the insurance - it wasn't that much of an increase when we did a test search. I wonder if we were missing something. Re the Y, console yourself with the fact that the 3 is better for the environment - studies have found that the prevalence of cross-over vehicles (in higher energy use and microplastics from the heavier braking) is outweighing the increased uptake of electrics.
Another manic weekend here, finishing *all* the jobs ready for the photographer this afternoon. In good news though, everything is finished and looks wonderful - so we can totally enjoy it (even the pond is finished, it's only been 6(?) years!). Another lesson to be learned there about not putting things off...
My first RM survey posting pack arrived on Saturday and I'm straight in on the live survey this time, no training, so stamps came with the pack(I was beginning to get low!
). This morning there's work to be done (got some out of the way on Saturday as energy levels were low after turfing in the heat on Friday), hoovering, washing the hall floor, cleaning the bathroom and rearranging the second bedroom before photos (2.30pm). For now though, tea and work...
MS things:
* Redistributed existing slate to finish pond, no expense required
* Used voucher for takeaway on Friday - but have tried quite hard to resist generally and it has worked!
* Negotiated a better rate for agent (saving ~£500)
Gratitudes:
* Mum came and cut the grass for us yesterday while we were busy doing other things
* Milkman delivery of bananas and apples - good to have snacks in as no baking done!
* Garden looks fab

2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Ooh, good luck with the photographer today! I loved living in our house once it was all finished. Nothing like OUR house, but it was so clean and tidy!! 😂5

Afternoon all,
Photographer has been, taken some lovely photos - it'll be a case of sending the link to family and saying, 'See our house, like never before!'At least we can make a mess again now! Have had a quick word with the agent and he'll sort the details, send them to me for approval (and editing, but I didn't tell him that!) and then it will go live, probably tomorrow... Looking at an open day a week on Saturday, so will book the cats in for a mini-break
Should probably crack on with some more work now. It's just a bit tedious...
