Wow! You're so busy, and doing so well! Your dad's doing well too
Great to hear the guy turned up and bought the car, I wondered if he was going to bottle ... brilliant that he was genuine.

That's what I love about this board, the way other people can really inspire you to think creatively about how best to use your hard-earned cash 😀 I had been fostering my own little 29/02 scheme after following SJ's musings, but now think I'm not aiming high enough. I don't know about busy Karma... had a bit of a boredom attack this afternoon as I'm fed up with the weather and DH has the mini to play with (and he wants to get on with it). Now I don't have Brownies I am finding I have a lot more time on my hands, especially while it's winter. However... I remember the family history and have had a lovely couple of hours tweaking and fiddling with that.
Was relieved the car man turned up, but have to say he sounded pretty genuine at all points and had messaged yesterday to check it was all still on. Nice when you find decent people 'out there'! (And he paid in well used £20 notes, so that was another concern assuaged!)
SC - totally agree! As you can see from my ramblings earlier in the month, I thought there would only be a small OP to make as I've got to replenish savings... Turns out, I wouldn't have used any of that money (except maybe the £10 in my current a/c) to do those things, so actually there's plenty around to do both!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Lots of excellent progress here, well done! I confess I did have a giggle at your electric car palaver - I can just imagine needing to do everything before everything else. Sounds like you'll be sorted soon though, most impressive.3

madvix, I was cooking split peas myself since you reminded me
and I found a surprising number of recipes specifically saying *not* to soak them, treat them like lentils but cook them a bit longer. It probably feels like ancient history to you now, but after your recent experience, those pages really hit home to me ...

Afternoon all,
Cheery, you’re right about everything needing to be done before everything else but... it’s actually been remarkably easy to organise. Everyone answers the phone and books you in quite quickly.
Not at all Karma, that’s interesting. I still think I’ll soak them another time.
Have listed a few more bits on the bay this morning and decluttered some other stuff. Just had leftover fajitas for lunch. Not much else to report!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
A quick post as I'm off to see my furry charges that I'm looking after this week and then taking niece out for a bit with my friend and her little boy. We're off to see fishes at the local aquatics place
Despite not getting much sleep last night (not sure why), I was up early to fit some work in and got more done than expected (hence a chance to post). Also sold 3 items on the Bay last night, so will need to post them tomorrow.
MS things:
* Have made pizza dough for tea tonight - will use up the open jar of sauce
* I get to use the electric car todaysaving fuel
* Work done before I went and had a query for client, which always helps when I feel he might think I'm slacking!
* Downloaded the Shoppix app yesterday and will see how I get on with that
Gratitudes:
* Lovely extended family time yesterday at Mum's
* DH is feeling better (hasn't been too well over weekend)
* People want our old stuff (ebay!), giving me space and money!
* Invitation to my sister's for pancake day tomorrow
Have a good day all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Afternoon all,
Had a lovely day with niece, friend and son yesterday - and just a fiver spent on a snack and drink for us at the fish place (with soft play).
Have done some work this morning and have more to do, but have walked to visit the cats, who were very pleased to see me - wanted lots of fuss (and food!). It was a 3 mile round trip, so I've had plenty of exercise and fresh air too, and made a couple of phone calls whilst walking, so a good use of time all round.
Am now awaiting the arrival of the electrician from the energy supplier, so will no doubt be without power later (work has been downloaded and the thermos is full).
Have had a couple of annoying Ebay issues. One person bid and won an item and then helpfully just sent a message saying 'Sorry I found a better one'. No 'please can you cancel' or any acknowledgement that you're committing to buy when you bid. (insert angry smiley). I sent him a very snippy reply. And another one who says her item hasn't turned up. I think I believe her, but I don't actually have any way of checking as I sent it 2nd class, not signed for. I'll get the postage back from RM, but as that was a large letter stamp, it's no great compensation (the item was a gift, so I have no proof of purchase).I've updated all my listings to include Signed For delivery now. But it's so expensive with the additional 10% Ebay charge on postage that I certainly wouldn't want to pay it - making several items less saleable. Grr!
MS things:
* Cat sittingEasy money
* A gift of two hot cross buns from friend (as they didn't like them - blueberry flavoured - a bit weird!) (Will exchange for some of our cardamom mountain!)
* Two ebay items to post (but can't go out now until electrician has been)
* Clicks
Gratitudes:
* Lovely time with niece and friend yesterday
* Fresh air, *sunshine* and a walk to the cats
* Veerry friendly cats - both waiting at the door for me and not just interested until I'd fed them!
* DH's work trip (today) to Milan was cancelled.... relieved is not the word!
