Morning all,
Ouch SL, that sounds cold! I think it was my legs that did for me too - the rest of me seemed fine, until I sat down to work.
UKPN are here at the moment and once they've gone and I've finished the assignment I'm working on, I've got a long to-do list today. I won't be visiting the cats on foot as I've got to go into town anyway (and it's wet out there). I'm hoping to get my invoicing done and pay myself today too.
We had a lovely evening at our friends' house last night - very chilled and relaxed and a very yummy veggie lasagne too.
MS things:
* Clicks all done
* Made some biscuits yesterday (does that count? It means I didn't buy any!)
* Will pay contents of sheepbank into the bank and add this to the leap day OP.
Gratitudes:
* Lovely evening with friends last night
* A day out tomorrow to look forward to
* The tulips the Freegle lady brought me 2+ weeks ago have finally had it (all dried out) but are still colourful and haven't lost their petals
Power has been off and is back on now, so I'm assuming UKPN are nearly done!Have a good day all!

How lovely that those tulips lasted so well. I love tulips - do I sense home made pot pourri in your future? I'm glad you're not on foot today in this rain - serious errand running when its tipping it is really Not Fun
2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
I hadn't thought about homemade pot pourri Karma, nice idea, but I'm not really one to have dishes around - cats would knock them off and I'd get annoyed at the dust. I might ask mum if she'd like them as an addition to her recent homemade pot pourri though. Thanks
Being on foot is, for me, fortunately, a choice - for health and plane considerations (and usually financial ones, but by not driving to the cats I can't claim the 44p/mile expenses off of the income, so actually it costs me money!). And with various bits to do today in spread out areas, including a CS drop off and cat chicken to buy (from Costco), it's not practical. I'll also fill up with petrol as I'm going to Costco and will see how long I can make it last (I know I've got the new car Monday/Tuesday should I want it, as DH is away with work - in the UK).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

if your tulip petals are in a decent condition you could put them on freecycle with a picture and maybe somebody who is doing natural wedding confetti might want them or put them in the compost bin:)
CRx3 -
Ooh, good thinking there too CR. They would end up in the compost, but I like the idea that someone might want them for confetti... even my BIL... maybe I'll save it for their wedding... I suspect they won't be using real petals, but no reason why I can't throw them, right?
Invoicing and paying myself all done (shuffles will have to wait till next week as it's still Feb). I've paid myself back for the decorating, paid off cc bill (with remainder of carpet balance), donated £25 to my cousin's Kilimanjaro challenge (which I've been waiting until I was paid to do) and had money leftover for an OP. I've also had some more feedback from Ebay, so have moved £50 out of there to OP fund. Paid in £4.51 (inc. an old £1 coin) at the bank from sheepbank (and wished I'd not left my hand-sanitiser in the car, having had to touch the change machine - urgh) - also added to OP fund. So..... I have £38.74 monthly OP to make (not a lot but hopefully improving from next month) and £170 leap day OP to make...
And then I remembered that we're not supposed to make OPs within the 10 days before our usual payment is due (on 2nd) in case it messes their system upDeflated, moi? This situation may have changed since Santa has moved into the 21st century (end of last year), but it's a bit too much of a risk to take really. Boo! So I've transferred the money to the Santa joint a/c and it'll have to wait until Monday or Tuesday. Nonetheless, I'm amazed at how much I've scraped together. And there's more to come from Ebay - there's another £40 sat in PP, but I'll give it a bit longer (and there's a few more fees to pay). And there's still stuff up for sale too.
And in the meantime, I've heard from my favourite client about a fairly large project that I've only got Monday to do - it's doable but it'll be a busy one. Lots of money thoughand we're still in the busy period for their client generally.

Afternoon all,
Feeling a left out of all the leap day payments! 😔 stupid bank! So pleased to have at least sorted the money out though.Anyway, DH and I have just come back from walking to see the cats. It was nice to have company and the cats made friends with him. It’s still rather windy out there! We decided that we’ll go out for the day tomorrow (beach clean in Norfolk) as the weather is meant to be better then.
We’re considering some more bank switching shenanigans as HSBC and RBS both have good offers on and T$B is lowering its interest rates. Will have to wait until mum’s switch to T$B has gone through though, obviously 🙂
I have chicken to cook for the cats and have bought butter to have a go at rough puff pastry (one of my New Year’s resolutions was to get to grips with pastry). I was going to make apple turnovers but the Coop either wanted 65p per apple or were selling them in unrecyclable plastic packaging 😡 Will have to try Budgens (walking distance in opposite direction) or wait to finish them after I’ve found some apples elsewhere.
Ebay item hasn’t shown up, so will have to do a refund there. 😔 Will see what I can get from RM.
MS things:
* Shoppix receipts done
* we’ll be switching to Octopus Go s as of midnight tonight, so cheap car charging here we go!
Gratitudes:
* Blue sky
* Lovely 🐱
* Fresh air!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Not thought about a beach clean will have look for when we on holiday in August, Thanks for the prompt.
CRx4 -
We’re just going to do one ourselves CR, it’s not organised (although imagine it might be more fun if it was). A bucket, some gloves and enthusiasm is all you need!
We’ll bag it up back at the car and bring it home to put in the bin so it doesn’t just blow away again. And then to a pub for a hot lunch and hopefully some juice for the car!

That's really great of you vix, I love the beach and hate seeing all the rubbish. I've got into the habit of wherever I am walking the dogs, when I pick up a dog poop, I pick up some rubbish with it!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
