Morning all,
Am up to date on all work now and will head out to post something shortly and return cat-sitting key. Have had a lovely review from last week's clients, so hoping that they'll use me again (and they have family abroad, so that's likely to be regularish). Mum has said I can have lunch at hers on way to see brownie friends, so will save my leftover spag bol for tea this evening. DH is away tonight with work - three meals paid for, although I expect he'll have to buy something for lunch tomorrow.
MS things:
* Clicks done (inc Swago)
* £12.10 received from VB
* Weather is definitely warming up and heating has been on less.
* Leftovers for tea
* Was going to book train tickets for Sunday, but think I'll wait (have a trainpal voucher, but it's not valid for less than £20 spend, so no real need to book in advance). I don't think govt will announce any measures until the long-awaited Budget is out of the way - so Thursday (DH's theory is that Italy didn't go into lockdown until Ferrari had all left for the Aus GP)? No point booking tickets if they're going to force us to stay AT home (sorry, BBC reporting that we'll have to 'stay home' is driving me up the wall - we're British, not American and we use a preposition in there!!). Think it's unlikely we won't be able to go, but would rather not lose ticket money.
Gratitudes:
* My health
* My work - which doesn't involve going out anywhere
* Subscription toilet roll! Where's the :rotfl: when you need it?

ooo we had a bedgate drama last year with a well known bed company not owned by ted danson (clue), it took 4 attempts for them to send (including the orginal bed) a bar, that I repeatedly told them was the wrong one, even sent them photos as proof. Oo don't get me started, need to go de-stress.

Well done on the OP's themadvix and getting it down below 70K.
Fingers crossed it stays below after the interest is added 😊Mortgage start: £121,500 Dec 193 -

Morning all,
CR, regarding the bed, I've done some more reading and I think they'd argue that it's natural settlement at the moment. Not entirely happy, but will persevere (DH being away meant I slept on the ridge in the middle last night). Will give it another few months and see if anything improves. We'd be claiming on the warranty rather than any return period, so we've got another 9 years to make a decision!
Thanks Bennett. At the moment it will pop over £70k again, albeit very briefly, but I'll keep hunting for more money to pay off!
SC - thanks for the support, thought I was getting a bit ranty, but things like that (and generally sometimes the quality of the BBC's journalism) drive me up the wall. It was on the website though, which I guess makes sense - I can't see Huw Edwards saying 'stay home' - he'd add the 'at'! It seemed to have been amended later in the day, so maybe they let the sub out of the cupboard at last!
Had a lovely fun time at 'Brown Owl's' baking yesterday afternoon - and I'm looking forward to the eating today! As DH was away and I was hoping for a lie in, I stayed up late (for me, 11pm!) and put the d/w on later. It seemed to make a difference of 15p!And I didn't get a lie in because cats don't care about such things... 'miaow, miaow' woke me up at 6.10!
Apart from a donation to charity for my lunch at Brown Owl's, it should be a LSD today - need a couple of non-food bits from the supermarket. Will pop other niece's birthday present to in-laws after lunch so that they can take it up for her at the weekend. Another friend was meant to be coming for dinner tonight but has postponed till next week (if it's this bad for us now, imagine what it'll be like when we're in the midst of the coronavirus-crisis?!).
MS things:
* Clicks etc.
* Having a go at making some oat milk to see if I could substitute it in some places (MSE and better environmentally). Concerned about calcium intake though (osteoporosis in the family) - and h/m stuff obviously isn't fortified. We get through a lot of milk and butter though, so would like to reduce this.
* Using focus music on Calm app to help with work - seems to work!
Gratitudes:
* Lunch with mum
* Fun time baking and catching up with Brownie friends
* Cuppa with Dad and heard about his holiday - Vegas itself sounded like hell on earth to me, but the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon photos were amazing.

Morning all,
Well it's grim out there in the world isn't it? Lovely sunny day though! I wonder how Karma is getting on on her cruise... DH was supposed to be visiting Germany for work at the end of April, less than 10 days before we're due to go to America... he won't be doing that now, although I suspect we won't be going to America. Not cool... no idea whether we'll get a refund on our airmiles we've collected for so long.
I've received the £100 from TSB from Mum's switch, so have just OP'd half and put the other half (with another £50 from savings) into my S&S ISA. That's in a sorry state - -25% since I opened it! :eek: emoji indeed!It goes against all instincts, but I know now is the time to invest if you can.
Had a lovely day yesterday and came home with 2 portions of soup, some shortbread (from friend's open house) and two avocados (from MIL).
Was meant to have gone with DH to Suffolk this morning - he has a meeting and was going to drop me in Woodbridge so I could get the train/walk to Sutton Hoo for NTbB, but I didn't really sleep last night, so when 6 am came, I told Mr MV to leave me in bed. And some work has since arrived, so it was probably for the best. He's had to take his car (cancelled the hire car as I wouldn't have been insured), so he'll get some good petrol money, but would rather not have put the miles on the car, which I feel bad about.
MS things:
* £100 from TSB - mortgage shouldn't now go back over £70k!
* PA survey done
* Clicks done
* Free food
* Bought milk from coop - it had gone down in price and had a 25p off voucher that kicked-in when I scanned my card. Wouldn't have had voucher had I not downloaded the app earlier in the week!
Gratitudes:
* We're well
* Apart from a couple of days if I'm ill, I shouldn't be too affected in terms of work
* Lovely day yesterday and good to see in-laws in the evening too

Morning all,
I've just got up to date with all my work. There's a possibility of some more this afternoon, but I suspect it's unlikely. I've also baked a loaf - to accompany DH's soup (if he makes it home in time for lunch - was planning to work from home this afternoon, but had got meeting times confused).
As we're still free to move about at will (for now) and Ronnie Scott's is open, we'll be heading there on Sunday. Both sets of friends we had rearranged to see this weekend have cancelled... again. We'll try and find someone else to spend Saturday evening with - the BIL and fiance might be up for a games night, but either way, takeaway curry is the plan (because it keeps getting promised and then taken away again!).
I have something of mine to list on FB selling group this afternoon, along with a load of bits for a friend. I was going to list my wedding dress on Ebay, but I'm wondering if now might not be the best time - people won't know if their wedding is going to be going ahead... and there's the trying it on thing etc... I think I might leave it for now. I have the photos I need, so once this is over (autumn?) I can stick it on then.
MS things:
* PA survey - a biggie, for £3.35
* 1P survey - 15p!
* Clicks done
* Bread baked
Gratitudes:
* Ronnie Scott's is on!
* Freshly baked bread
* Health
Have a good afternoon all. Now I need to write a card to my mum's friend (also my friend) who is no longer allowed out of her care home and can only have family visitors.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Afternoon all,
We had an excellent time at Ronnie Scott's yesterday - the band were super, the food was good, the bill was enormous!Best not to think about it, but we did have a three course meal and a cocktail each, with a bit of a 'the end of the world is nigh' attitude - not sure when we'll be spending much again, so we decided to enjoy ourselves. Ronnie's was full (which was good), but London was eerily quiet - great for seeing the sights and not getting cross with tourists under your feet! Handwashing was very high on everyone's agenda, which was good to see. We also grabbed a couple of magic bags from TooGoodToGo before we came home - some amazing giant doughnuts (from a place in Soho) and a box of goodies from a cafe in Covent Garden. DH has taken the baguette from the box for lunch (along with a doughnut). Have had some of my doughnut for elevenses. It was the first time we'd tried TGTG (not a lot available around here), so it was good to test it out.
Had takeaway on Friday night in the end as it meant we could have the leftovers for lunch on Saturday. No company though
Have been slowly getting through work this morning - brain is definitely less focused than normal! Going to have some lunch now, before heading out to do a few chores.
MS things:
* Clicks etc.
* Ebay sales x 2 - only small but every little helps
* Work - enjoy it while it lasts
Gratitudes:
* Really great day out yesterday
* Cheapy bakery bits
* Sunshine here today
