I'm sure I remember being told once (by someone who used to work for RM's complaints dept) that they'll refund you 10x the cost of postage if you've got proof you sent it. Might be worth looking into to lessen the pain?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Sadly not SC - have been here, done it before... I wonder if that was pre-EBay? You’re required to have proof of value to be able to claim for the item itself.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Have been for my walk to see the cats. It takes a while (1.5 hours there and back with about half an hour with the furry beasties), but the benefits of walking are so many that it's worth it.
Back to work now though and plenty to get on with. I may pop out with Mum a bit later for some CS shopping, but I am beginning to doubt that will happen as I've got lots of work and she didn't sound too keen (for today) when I spoke to her. We'll see. I'm trying to find a cashmere jumper so I can do a Cheery and swap it for a pair of Turtle Doves for my cousin's birthday present (we don't normally do presents, but I discovered she has Reynaud's the other day and think these might help her).
MS things:
* 10p to go until I hit payout at VB
* Ebay items posted
* SB's 12th birthday so lots of opportunities for free SBs today
Gratitudes:
* Still grateful DH didn't go to Milan! (The event he was going to was cancelled - cost the company running it a lot of money!)
* So many things to be grateful for just walking through the park to the cats
* Spring is definitely in the air!

blueberry hotcross buns sounds so wrong on so many levels. So glad companies are been sensible and not sending workers to infected areas.

That's a shame about the postage then 😯 I suppose the completed eBay listing would be proof of value, but could also be too cringeworthy to follow it through - the only things I ever sell are complete rubbish!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Sorry, I might not have been clear - proof of purchase is required... to show that you’re out of pocket. They don’t seem to consider that you’ve lost the item as being relevant unless you’ve paid out for it! Although, I will double check this, so thanks SC.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
It's snowing here! Forecast says it's only meant to be sleet, but it's definitely coming down quite heavily, is big flakes and is settling! It'll be paltry amount compared to oop north, I'm sure, but in the meantime I'm not really looking forward to visiting the cats! I'll walk because I'd rather not drive in this weather (snow is so mesmerising!), but it's cold out there! For now, I'm getting on with some work.
CR - the blueberry hot cross buns weren't great. I wouldn't buy them (but then I wouldn't buy any that come in plastic, so that's not saying a lot!). Either way, they were appreciated as a warm snack and the lashings of melted butter helped!
Meant to be going to a friend's for dinner tonight, but I think we'll have to see what the weather does. If it warms up it'll be fine, but they're about 20 miles away (near DH's parents), so I don't fancy coming back late in the snow.
MS things:
* American client has settled a big bill - there was a slight delay, so I was a little bit worried, but all is fine. This means I should be able to finish paying myself back for the decorating, pay off the carpet and make an OP (on top of the leap day one).
* Have a bid on my old laptop on ebay - it's only £30 (it has pixel death in the middle of the screen), but it's £30
* Still no more feedback left from purchasers, so haven't been able to transfer any more funds to OP fund.Haven't heard any more from buyer of missing item either, so it probably hasn't turned up.
* £3 Am gift card from Jobspotter - they're changing system so have cashed everyone out.
(Sidebar: massive flakes of snow now coming down!!)
Gratitudes:
* The ability to stay warm and dry - really thinking of those who are sleeping rough and those who have been flooded out.
* A nice trip out with Mum yesterday. And only spend was parking - she bought a Belgian bun which we brought back here to enjoy
* Snow is pretty, and hopefully won't become a pain!

Good finance results there - I hope that ebaying gets sorted soon though. And you have snow! We had lots of rain early on, it woke me up, actually, and its just bleurgh now.

Thanks Karma.
Well I walked to the cats in the snow not long after I posted this morning. Despite not getting cold while I was out, I am still trying to get warm (not sure of the logic there!). I have the heating on, my wheat bag on my lap, my fingerless gloves on and many layers.... I think it's about beginning to work. There's a hot lunch in the oven too, so hopefully that'll help.
The sun is out here now and the snow has pretty much entirely disappeared, but it's still cold out!
