fungaltendancy wrote: »One thing i think people forget about a levels, gcse etc etc is that in a few years it won't matter squat anyway.I did excellent in all mine, went to university and had to leave because of ill health.Feeling better i tried to return a few years later only to be told that it did not matter how good my grades were I had to do access courses because after 3 years they were considered out of date:eek:
BTW who is it on here uses vitakal(is that how it spelt). Was it aesop, blue and doc??
According to coupon forum its printing at £1 not 50p anyone want while im doing a run??
TTFN x
not me hun, blue was giving hers away too.
as for the qualifications, know what you mean, I work for a training provider. And I have this all the time, but I got my O Level in this subject, yes but if it was not in the last 5 years and at an A grade, the government have decided that it is no longer valid and you have to retake it. Granted some people really do need to retake it, but others don't, as they pass with flying colours.
And my HNC which is just over 6 years old is no longer valid for Recognised Prior Learning for the Open University as the government have deemed education over 5 years old is not valid :mad:0 -

Strangely the one place I had some joy was the OU as they would take all my partial credit from uni BUT i had to complete within 8 years of the first credit(leaving me 2 years to do a degree which is going to take me 6)
I didnt realise that about the HNC.Oh well I guess mine is invalid too(although i still work in that industry so pthhhht to them)
As I say its totally nuts! All this pressure on 15 year olds for stuff that wont matter squat 10 min later!0 -
hi CM
sorry to hear you had problems with my letter
i don't understand though what do they mean by can't cancel stamp?? surely stamps needed to get it posted.
cheeky so & sos i've already paid the postage, i'd complain or at least get their reasonning behind it
i don't suppose the stamp had sellotape over it???? as i sometime do that when sellotaping shut envelopes.
well either way hope contents were of useok so just got the letter thru with the unpaid postage and cant beleive what RM have done !!! the envelope was for MT and yes MT you had used a stamp but they have written on the envelope "cannot cancel stamp" and then charged me as if it had no stamp on it. shacked that they can do this, do you reckon i could complain ? surely they could have just drawn a line thru the stamp stupid pill0cks. hope this isnt the start of something new, so angry with stupid posties right now0 -
Hi guys
sorry not been on the boards for last few days. My DH is still in hospital and I seem to spend all my time going to and from the hospital. Its so tiring and time consuming. One night I was there till midnight and another 10.00 pm so by the time I get home I am ready for bed.
Hope everyone is well and getting loads of bargains.
take care

Sorry to hear about DH,CW.hope he is home soon.
CM, we are not supposed to reuse stamps as illegal, hence why they are supposed to frank it. But with modern machines they don't always get franked. The postman is then supposed to cross through the stamp to stop it being reused. If it has sellotape ut cannot.
Might be worth firing off an email to them0 -
Also sorry to hear DH not well CW, hope he gets better soon.0
