Why is that Aesop - what is the difference?
You took one exam with O'Level. You answered questions about set topics and you got a grade, A-E or U.
With GCSEs they do course work all through out the year, their course work could be brilliant, A, B grades, and then when they take the exam if they do not get the same grade, it pulls their course work downThis is what happened to my friend's daughters. One got As and Bs all year throughout her coursework. no problems. Come to the exam she only got a D in the exam, don't know why, but her overall GCSE has now been graded at a D instead of the A or B she was getting all year.
And when they brought out GCSEs we all said it was the soft touch. The government introduced them because not enough people were passing O Levels, so they thought to make it easier for students they were introduce this system, where they did course work all year, got graded on it, and then took an easier exam at the end of the year, which went to their overall grade. It meant people who really weren't academic were passing with C grades but weren't really capable of the stuff they had passed in, ie Maths and English.
I see it now with the people we get through the door. The ones who got all As - yes they could have easily passed all their O Levels. The ones with C in GCSE are not always that great.0 -

Doc is right, they cannot ask you to post it back! You should have been asked to return it to store. I had this problem with a lady at work, bought Tesco fruit with an ant in it. I emailed them as we couldn't be bothered to walk back upto Tesco and give it back in. And after a few emails she got given a £5 gift card for the distress it had caused her. She wouldn't eat Tesco fruit for weeks after that.0 -

column 2 - cancellation rights waiver, I wish to waive my cancellation rights ?? sign;print;date. ( I do not understand this column)
nice dodgy company
they are taking away your standard cancellation rights to have the item repaired after you have been quoted for the repair. in other words you might get the quote and say go ahead with repair. Then change your mind and think I can get it done cheaper somewhere else, they are taking away the right to cancel your contract with them.0 -

Morning all
Hugs to Kerri and DOC. fingers crossed the rest of the month gets easier for you.
Well done BL on your victories
Nice to see you again Lilly
One thing i think people forget about a levels, gcse etc etc is that in a few years it won't matter squat anyway.I did excellent in all mine, went to university and had to leave because of ill health.Feeling better i tried to return a few years later only to be told that it did not matter how good my grades were I had to do access courses because after 3 years they were considered out of date:eek:
Sometimes i think there is far too much emphasis put on our teenage years and what we do then.It all seems so critical to kids and parents at the time when reality is by the time your 25 none of it matters anymore!
(:o:osorry rant over:o:o)
