good luck with the selling!! The weekends are good times to start the auctions so they finish the following weekend. I know myself being a fulltime mum, it's not always convenient during the week to be around to look at items when they are due to finish - tryingto search ebay with a one year old tugging at the leg and switching the computer off and a 3 year old calling me because she needs some tissue makes it a nightmare. So i tend to look at the weekend when hubby is around to cater for babies needs while I spend all his money...lol!!!!

Anyway it works for me so i thought I'd share that with you, I am utterly babbling now so will stop!!!

I haven't sold clothes on Ebay, although I have Bought baby clothes on Ebay. Here are things worth considering that we thought about:-
Dont sell winter clothes in summer, vice-versa. We wanted a clothes bundle for the upcoming spring/summer season. Save your fleeces auction until September onwards :)

The majority of the bundle has to be branded, 75%+. eg: Tesco, Asda tops new @ 3 for a fiver wont get the bids coming in if they make up the majority of the bundle.

State the condition of the clothes - ie: "no items have any stains whatsoever" is nice to see when you cant actually see the clothes for real. Seeing things like "All freshly washed in non-bio", "Non-smoking household", "No Pets" can offer comfort to buyers too.

    Good luck!

thanks everyone!! I have my digi camera all charged up so early next week i'm gonna give this a go - guess I start the listing quite low to encourage bids??

Its getting exciting now, will have to let you know the result!!

    Good luck with the selling!

I've never sold anything myself, but have bought baby clothes from ebay before. Definitely start low and a bundle (or a nice set) would be more saleable than single items.

    I agree jo_b :)

I've never bought baby clothes (no need ;)), but when I'm looking at nothing nor something, a well laid out set always catches my eye - and I'm not looking.

Even if there's a bundle, it's nice to see some nicely ironed individual items - especially girly ones :)

If I was selling something really eye-catching - I'd try and sell it individually first.

    Good luck Rachie :D

i've been buying newborn clothes off ebay recently and have sold the girls clothes i'd collected cheap before finding out little roo is a bouncing boy (bouncing well with enormous feet lol!). i would never bid on anything that didn't have postage costs already priced up, when selling my girly things i used the kitchen scales to find out the weight of the bundles then used the royal mail calculator to find the postage prices, i re-use old catalogue bags so i didn't charge for packaging.

people seem to pay more for stuff with winnie the pooh on it so that could be worth selling separately, or if in a bundle make sure you mention it in the title. parents are soppy like that, my aunt is mad for winnie the pooh clothes for her daughter, personally i'm a sucker for things with rabbits on (daft i know lol!). if any of it is plain white it might be worth selling as a unisex bundle. let me know when you list them and i'll have a look :-)

The listings look lovely but I'm worried that you are going to lose money rather than make it. Your 17 items already listed have cost you £5.10 in listing fees (17 x 15p x 15p) and if any sell at your opening price of 99p you will also have to pay FVFs of approx 5p each (someone correct me on that if I'm wrong please, I can never work out FVF accurately from memory) plus approx 28p per listing paypal fees. I realise you have liisted on the 5p day so you will eventually get £1.70 back (17x10p) which will help.

So each 99p item will have cost you 63p in fees (less the 10p refund). If you sell all your items you will just make a profit but if you only sell half you will only be breaking even overall.

Hopefully stuff will sell for more than opening price but stuff listed on an offer day often does poorly as there is so much competition.

I hope things goes well for you.
