Anyone sold baby clothes on ebay?

I have seen lots of baby clothes for sale but am trying to work out what the best way to get buyers is as some things seem to sell and some things don't - is it just luck of the draw or has anyone who has sold stuff before got any tips...
As a bit of a background as to what i am selling its all boys clothes from newborn to 1year.. I have lots of the stuff as i was lucky enough to know several people with boys only slightly older so would guess that the clothes would fill about 10 bin bags, maybe more??
I was wondering whether I would get more to sell it in
a) one big lot
b) lots of small 'lots'
c) individual items with 0.1p starting prices...
Some of the stuff is good makes i.e. Adams, Next, GAP etc but not all of it, its all in pretty good condition too...
I took to too my local shop that sells second hand clothes and they said there was just way too much stuff - i'd give it away to a friend but don't know anyone who wants/needs it...
If it doesn't sell on ebay then i'm just gonna donate it to charity but thought if I managed to make a few quid on this stuff then I may be able to get something nice for the kids out of it??
Any hints for me?
- I'm armed with my notebook to jots down ideas  - oh and my digital camera to take lots of snaps!!

hiya! I have sold a few bits before!
If you have quite a bit I would sell in bundles of about 20+ items and mix them up! quality wise! if you have a top that is not so good add it if a couple of items are good in a bundle people usually go for them!
With a nice jumper or something with winnie pooh...etc on sell seperately as these are quite popular! - although if you just want the space the above would probably be better!
kiddies stuff always sell! and people like to buy bundles as they can have a good rummage!!

We've just started selling our old baby items (well some brand new never worn ones !), it's a bit wierd really someone bought us a baby outfit from a market and that sold for more than a named item

Seems to be no rhyme or reason with the buyers although I have noticed that toddlers bundles go for more than small baby bundles. They say that football is a religion, if this is true I worship at the Exacta Stadium, Chester0 -
i recently sold some next clothes and i found the best way was to sell them in small bundles of age group eg 3-6 months, 6 -9 months etc.
i made approx £30 for about 50 items.
buyers want a bargain so don`t over price either.
good luck0 -

that sounds good - i got my fingers crossed then!
Thanks for the replies, maybe i'll do bundles then... is it best to mix the bundles i.e. some tops, some bottoms, some vests etc to give the 'rummage' effect or to keep it all together as in all tops, all bottoms etc??
What about photos? Photograph everything together, individually or just odd items??
Sorry if i'm sounding really silly but i've tried to find out what works best by looking at completed auctions but didnt have much luck??Official DFW Nerd 210

Take a look on ebay and see which you think most effective.
I would take one big bundle and then a few of the good ones seperately!

I tried selling some individually, but out of eight bits only one went. I then put as a bundle, and they went.0

From experience anything with a decent brand name is worth listing seperately. Other stuff is best off in bundles of 10-20 items.what a 42 carat plonker you really are Rodders0

I was in the same position. I sold items from Next/Gap/ Vertbaudet/ Adams individually and in bundles. If they were in excellent condition ( and the young stuff was ) I sold it individually but anything that was just very good or good condition - I put in bundles - not massive bundles though. I made sure I described them as clearly as possible and mentioned any minor flaws. I've always been pleased by the price they've reached. A Next coat went for £20 odd quid - you can buy a new one for less than that. I've usually started them off at just 99p. Personally I find a low starting price attracts more bidders who bid up then a higher one. Also, I sold a mobile for a cot and someone else was selling the same one. I purposelly didn't list mine until theirs ended so if someone really wanted it they would keep looking and bid on mine.0

Hi , I have sold quite alot of baby bits on ebay, mainly my little boys clothes. I have found like many of the others that if you sell in bundles they tend to go. I sorted my little boys bits out into ages i..e 3-6 months etc and grouped together trousers, bundles of tops, some mixed. I tend to sell items separately if it is a coat for example.
When you enter the item description if you include some branded items i.e 'Next' make sure you mention the word NEXT in the item description as alot of people (me included) will search just for next items.
I hope that makes sense, after a day with my two little ones but brain is a bit fuzzled.....
happy selling0 -
thanks everyone!! I have my digi camera all charged up so early next week i'm gonna give this a go - guess I start the listing quite low to encourage bids??
Its getting exciting now, will have to let you know the result!!Official DFW Nerd 210
