...I've been parking there for years, so I knew I'd be okay as long as I didn't exceed that limit...I did once, years ago, and was happy to cough up on that occasion...
Wow, really?! Happy to cough up to a private scammer who doesn't own or have any proprietary rights in the car park?! :eek:I'm tempted to write ParkingEye a polite letter of appeal pointing out these things, saying that I would be willing to pay a proportionate charge (say, £10-£20), and giving them my assurance that, in future, I will make sure to check the signs every time I park on private land, to see if there have been any changes to the terms and conditions.
Wow, really?! You are tempted to offer money to a private scammer who doesn't own or have any proprietary rights in the car park?! :eek:But from what everyone on this forum has been saying about ParkingEye, it seems I would be completely wasting my time (and money) and might as well write to a brick wall instead?
Yep. like all the other posters on this board, you have a fake PCN. Ignore it.
When dealing with "tickets" from private parking companies (PPCs) our advice is to ignore them as long as the registered keeper is you or a relative. The letters to ignore are easy when they arrive at the address of someone who knows it's all hogwash and not a real parking ticket at all.
The whole scam of fake PCNs relies firstly on people's ignorance of the fact that a random private company can't fine anyone, and secondly on their natural fear of parking tickets and the escalating costs/bailiff scenario. So PPCs copy the look of a real parking ticket and - hey presto! - the cash rolls in from victims who know no better.
This is different. This is not a penalty at all. It's rubbish.
Tick off the threatening letters here.

Surely you are not minded to pay now, especially as you fell for the con once?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Further to Wydene post,
I telephoned Aldi's head office, and spoke to Laura, who asked for a copy of proof of transaction in their Bangor store, ( either a till receipt or a bank statement) and a copy of the Parkingeye's charge notice, and they would be able to contact Parkingeye and cancel the charge once proof of purchase in their store had been obtained, Will keep the forum posted.0 -

Received a written reply from Aldi, They have seen copy of proof of purchase of using the store and Parkingeyes charge notice, and have cancelled the Parkingeye's charge notice! and state that I should not hear any further from Parkingeye.
So I suppose if I hear from Parkingeye again, I'll just forward a copy of Aldi's letter of confirmation of cancellation!0 -
If it were me I would thank them but reiterate that they have lost my custom unless and until they evict the parasites from their car park.Je suis Charlie.0

I've received a letter from parkingeye showing photographs of entering and leaving car park at Bridges Retail Park Whitehaven Cumbria stating that the car had been there 5 hours. However the photos were taken on two separate visits on the same day - photo showing entry on the first visit and then exit on the second visit. I've e-mailed their appeals address informing them of the fact saying that if I receive any further parking charge notices from them I'll take it to Watchdog. Can anyone confirm that if I just keep ignoring them that they cannot do anything and will stop0

The bad news
They will ignore your appeal and will continue to harass you for payment, then they will pass on your details to a debt collector/solicitor to harass you further, so no they won't stop until you have received the series of letters . In your case they will probably write to you more as you communicated with them.
The good news
You can ignore them completelyExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

They will go away eventually. They won't be stupid enough to take it to a court, but even if they did, they could not possibly prove you were there for the whole 5 hours, because you weren't. And that's even if they could legitimately charge you however much it is, even if you did park for 5 hours (which they can't).0 -
