My Dad used to clean it every Sunday afternoon after cooking the Sunday lunch! Wonder if my Mum knew how lucky she was? Have to admit mine doesn't get done very often as it's such a tiring job - I'll be looking for a cooker with a self-cleaning oven when I get a new one.

I always know when to clean my oven, the roasting tins try to grab the sides of the oven & beg not to be put in there!!!

    Hi youngmum,

We have a recent thread on how often to clean the oven so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the replies together.

I clean it when it gets dirty. :D

Seriously, if I cook something that's liable to drip/splatter etc, then I wipe it out when it's cooled down, but still warm. If I've just cooked a cake in there, then I tend to leave it. It does get a good doing over once a year, with the spring clean, but it never "needs" it, as it do it as I go along.
