What will you do when your debts are gone?

I am semi df apart from my massive student loan. I am debt busting that too (saving up in an ISA @ 5.5%), but I'm going to liberate some of it to go and see my sister and my new niece in New York. Yipee!
When I am debt free I am going to enjoy the most having good clothes. I work in a really nice area with lots of other design companies and I look so scruffy. When I have cash I will buy some nice clothes from Monsoon. That will be such a big treat I can't wait. Haircuts are another thing, I have one a year when I go home because London is so expensive. I'd also like to be able to buy OH some nice gifts, I often see things he would like in shops and I would love to be able to give him some things without having to budget weeks in advance or get him something like it off ebay or something that Pigsback give vouchers for!
Lovely thread though, to hear everyone's wishes

Actually, paying off my debts is almost upon me (kind of). I am getting a pay rise paid to me this friday, with 6 months backdated pay. This will be more or less equal to my Halifax debt.
I say kind of because that will be my credit card debt gone, but I still have a large loan with the OH to pay off in 44 monthly payments..."I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0 -
I cant imagine being debt free if im honest, but i would just like to have enough cash in the bank to pay both my council tax in full and my car insurance.
Then im going to save what i would normally spend on my debts, each month by standing order.
When theres a few thousand in there i might book a holiday, nothing too expensive, but a nice family week away abroad somewhere.*Spendi*

What a cool thread! I was talking to a friend at work about this today as yesterday I made the last payment on a 6 year loan and next month will have another £303 per month to throw at the other £50k of debt! We talked about how liberating it will be to have no debt .... but strangely I think that I will almost miss it!
I want to take my daughter to swim with dolphins more than anything in the world. She has loved them since she could walk and talk and she's 15 this year!! It makes me tearful to think about how happy she would be.
I really can't imagine how it will feel to have 'spare money' at the end of a month but it is what keeps me going. This type of thread is really inspirational as it's what it's all about (along with the hokey cokey!).

ooooh good topic!! When I'm debt free I will:
- buy a new car
- go on a fabulous holiday
- start having my nails done again
- stop looking at the cost of everyhting in the supermarket
and then I'll be right back in debt again!!

Once my Debts are paid off I am going to start hammering down my Mortgage so I can be totally debt free. this is going to take me years to do but Im totally ready for the battle.
Once my Mortgage has gone in about 10 years I'll be 39 and then I am planning on saving enough money to retire in comfort by the time Im 55. then I will truelly be financially independant.
