I want to be able to start saving for holidays and fun stuff.
I'm looking forward to accepting invitations from friends to go places and do stuff without having to think, oh no, can't do that.

The thing I think that is most lovely about this thread is that people are genuinely thinking about what they will do when the debt is gone. There are those of us with the 'dream' _party_ - ie the big holiday, the new(er) car, the wedding etc, but then theres the little bits that just make life so much nicer... being able to afford to buy the clothes you want, or to buy a new book, a proper haircut, nothing seriously extravagent, just little things to make life more pleasant.

I really hope we all get there - but more importantly stay there! I never, ever want to return here again (even though this board IS lovely !!) and I hope I can educate my children well enough that they never get here.

Good luck to us all!!! :grouphug:

  • Me - Save up for a proper foreign holiday, save up enough money to not have to worry about emergencies or having to scrimp and save to afford things we want. Being able to treat my girls and ourselves.

DH - Buy loads of beer with the free money we have, get trashed and celebrate saying a big f**k you to the system. And buy more xbox games.

  • OH wants some tv (a man thing lol) I just want to go shopping and know there is money in the bank, treat the kids without having to budget for it/'borrow the money' from food etc

To go further afield on a holiday!

Think about moving home, and having no debt when we transfer the mortgage rather than increasing the mortgage!

    Not too much really lol
