Their service is slightly worse than appalling in my experience.
Totally agree, I almost had to submit a case to them for a BTL this week, I was very worried I would have to deal with them, luckily my client is in a rush AND was put off by their terrible SVR so he choose to use another lender.
Dont know how anyone can recommend them for purchases right now, sadly theres a lot of lenders that shouldnt be recomended on time sensitive cases at the momentI am a Mortgage Adviser

We are having this problem with SO many lenders at the moment! We have two Accord cases (and a Woolwich) who are taking an age to pick up documents that are sent across to them
To be honest I think the majority of lenders are fairly bad with processing times at the minute and even if we sent something across as soon as a client provides it, it is taking days to get a response (and then they request something else!!)
Even when we ring them to chase we can be on hold for 10, 15 minutes or even longer just to get an update.
I was on hold with Accord for 20 mins this morning to find out that the document I emailed them on the 21st 'may get picked up today or tommorow'
Not a lot the brokers can do I'm afraid!0 -

It seems we are no further on than 6 weeks ago.0 -
I'm still having the same problem as both of you. Following on from my earlier post, we received a request for further documentation which we had already sent to Accord but it had been 'mislaid'. This is the second time documentation has been requested since receiving our mortgage in principal (valuation has already been done and agreed). Accord now requesting bills from 2009 and have gone through our bank accounts asking for further information on a lot of our transactions i.e. what they are, what are they related to and do we have any supporting evidence. I do understand that everything has to be accounted for but the wait is ridiculous and missing documentation is unexceptable. They don't have a clue what they are doing at the moment and obviously cannot cope. It's a waiting game again.0

To be honest, I've had the opposite experience. 2 weeks from application to offer, which seems reasonable. It took them 4 days to arrange the survey after we sent our docs in, but the survey happened last Friday and my offer was sent today. not too bad?0

Still waiting here.
Accord posted this update on its website last Friday:30 March - Product withdrawal
Due to market conditions Accord has received record business volumes and we thank you for your business. To ensure we are able to continue an effective broker and customer experience we will be withdrawing all products for a short period in order to resume our standard level of service.0 -
I am with Accord and have the following issue.
My ex partner with whom I share a mortgage has moved out of the house we share and is refusing to make any payments towards our mortgage.
We are trying to sell the house however we have discovered some subsidence on the house that needs fixing.
The issues are, I am struggling to make the payments on the house on my own, we are on interest only now, but this ends in a months time. Also the excess for fixing the house is £1,000 and it will take 6 months to complete.
I am currently with Accord Mortgages on a SVR of 5.99% which is very high, however, my ex is refusing to move the mortgage onto Nationwides 3.29% 5 year tracker with no early repayment charges and she is also refusing to pay any of the £1,000 excess on the house insurance to fix the subsidence.
My question is will I be able to ask for a payment break for a few months on the mortgage? I assume a mortgage company would allow that knowing that the house will be sold in 6 months and they will get their money back. Also, I have been paying the mortgage for 6 months on my own, am I legally entitled to reclaim half of this money back from my ex when the house sells, the same goes for the £1,000 excess?0 -
We finally received a mortgage offer on Friday after lots of threatening from our broker! Not great service from Accord at all0

I also got a response from Accord on Friday. They wanted to know more details, such as payments in and out of accounts going back to November, so it seems they could read them after all. They even asked what sill amounts were for like £150 Paypal transactions!
My broker told them that we have to exchange by Thursday or the developer is putting the house back on the market. Frankly I'm surprised they haven't yet as we were met to have exchanged on the 6th of March.0 -
Got the call from the broker this morning! Our offer's in the post and we'll have it tomorrow. :j0
