But surely it doesn't take a month to issue the valuation and offer?0 -
Anyone else having problems, or have any advice on how to move this along?0

I am sorry this is way, way too long and there must be another issue or some reason why there is such a hold up.
Not withstanding this, I did contact my Accord pre-sales contact today and her voicemail was on saying cannot speak to her all week as she is working on existing business all this week so I suppose this gives us an insight just how snowed under they must be...
Cannot imagine it will get any better as we hit peak holiday weeks within Easter...I am a Mortgage Broker

Now going to have to buy more heating oil too, getting beyond the joke now.0 -
We applied to Accord on 29th February (we had to wait until we appeard on the electoral role - stupidly we didn't realise how important it was!) and we're still waiting for our written mortgage offer. Further documentation was requested and sent over 3 weeks ago. Valuation has been done and agreed. Our IFA (he does mortgages as well) has been chasing but has just received responses such as staff have been working weekends and more staff have been bought in. So I can feel your frustration although your application seems to have gone on for a lot longer than ours...what response is your broker getting from Accord? We were advised today that our application would be pulled and looked at today and we would have an answer tomorrow....I'm not holding my breath though!0

My broker hasn't had a response, only to the valuation and that isn't a definite answer so all in all no further on than a month ago.
I ring or email my broker every few days only to be told the same thing, that he's waiting for an answer and we should have one in the next couple of days.
He has put a complaint in but we haven't heard anything back about that either.0 -
I can't tell if I'm making any real progress in my application either.
Here's a rough timeline:
26 Jan - Mortgage found by broker (London & Country)
27 Jan - Agreement in principal accepted
08 Feb - Valuation done
13 Feb - Apology from broker, stating "lender has fallen behind normal time scales as they have had vast amounts of new cases"
16 Feb - Underwriter requested new documentation, sent straight away
02 Mar - Apology from broker, stating "case is still with underwriting, im sorry about the slow processing"
14 Mar - Broker tells us Accord will only give us the mortgage offer if my fiancee clears her student loan
15 Mar - Student loan paid off
26 Mar - Confirmation of student loan settlement sent to broker
28 Mar - Still waiting and feeling none the wiser
I'm not entirely sure where the hold up is, either. I'm having absolutely no joy at all getting my broker on the phone. So instead, I called Accord direct last week to get an update. I was told quite clearly that the mortgage would be offered once they had received two outstanding documents; a business bank statement (that I'd already sent to the broker over a month ago) and a letter from the Student Loan Company confirming that my fiancee's loan had been paid off. Both were received by the broker yesterday morning, who told me via email that the documents were certified and handed over to Accord, but I spoke to Accord this afternoon and they claim to have had no contact from London & Country for a week!
I can't tell if the hold up is with L&C or Accord, but I've learnt my lesson and I don't think I'll be using a broker again.
If it's any help to anyone, Accord told me today that their mail backlog is six days. So I think I'll be waiting at least another week before I have any further information, or, fingers crossed, the long-awaited offer.0 -
Well I have just got off the phone to my broker.
He has spoken to Accord, and they have asked for the last 3 months statements from myself along with payslips, and the last 2 months from the wife.
They are saying they can't read them, but have queried payments going out and coming in, I mortgage and rent payments. If they couldn't read them then how can they query the transactions.
And what about the last 3 times they were sent!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I'm so mad it's untrue......0 -
I think it's pretty obvious the fault is with Accord considering they took a month to tell you that you needed to pay off the student loan.
Their service is slightly worse than appalling in my experience.
