Oh well done! When do you start?

At the end of the month. Don't know what to do with myself til then!
Although as I will be cycling to work and I need to get used to that so 10 mile bike rides every day should be on the list.

Excellent, onwards and upwards. Is this with the business your old boss went to?

Good work Drea, nice to see it work out for you.

I've had a phone call from an Agency this afternoon and they've arranged an interview for a permanent job next Thursday. It seems so long since I had an interview i'll probably find that the nerves will come back when I go.

I've also got an interview this week, the job is perfect, exactly what I want and what I have been looking for. Lack of experience is going to let me down, as well as nerves. I only spoke to the guy on the phone this morning and I could feel myself shaking!

    Hate interviews!
  • Hi, I'm pretty new to this forum (been browsing but not so much posting), but thought I'd post today as I'm feeling pretty dejected about my job hunt.

I applied for a job with the HMRC and was told in February that I was successful at interview and everybody was being held on a list until checks had been carried out. Turns out that all jobs have been filled and I haven't been offered a position.

I have been unemployed for almost nine months now. I worked previously as an Academic Mentor in a local college, which involved going into local high schools, to help those students struggling with their Maths and English. Unfortunately, it was a local council funded project and there were no funds for the following academic year.:(

I have A/A*s at GCSE, As at A Level and 2:1 honours degree from a very good university.

I'm coming up this year to my 30th birthday this year and am feeling...quite distraught actually, that I have no career to speak of. In an ideal world I would be thinking about starting a family, but financially there is no way this is even a possibility because of my lack of job.

I am applying daily for jobs, but there is a serious lack of graduate jobs in my area and am applying for jobs that you might say I am over-qualified for, but I am not hearing anything back. My SIL is in HR and has over-hauled my CV, to no avail.

There's no real point to my post. I just wanted to vent because this situation is so depressing and I know that a lot of people will be in this position. I wake up at stupid o'clock worrying about it and although I am a confident, out-going person, this is really bringing me down.

arrrggg I'm trying to fill in an application form for a job in a cash office (retail) but the application form is a generic one and half the questions on it are completely irrelevant to the role I'm applying for. Its so frustrating (and hard) to complete :(
