My husband's friend who is an accountant had 7 interviews. Then they decided the industry background he came from, which they'd known from day 1, wasn't suitable for them. What a complete waste of his time.
yeah me too in accounts - they want people from the same industry but accounts is accounts no matter who you are working for and they just do not get it

I received my "you're fired" letter today, with minutes of the meeting and how to appeal. I think I'm going to appeal, I wouldn't go back to work there after what's happened but it would maybe give a better reference.

But then I wonder what the point is when I'm 99.9% sure I wouldn't win an appeal, they obviously wanted rid!

I've been a complete idiot and sent out CV's with my old address on! Just hoping they decide to phone and not send any letters. Feeling a bit fed up today, have applied for jobs but not done much else!

I can't remember the last time somebody wrote to me in response, it's always been a phone call or an email. I wouldn't worry about it. We all call ourselves idiots in the past, I did it myself yesterday after I sent one of my applications off.

Applied for one job this evening, i've got all the relevant experience on my cv and in my covering letter. Mind you last time I applied for a job which met my experiences even better I didn't hear a word.

    Have a good weekend everybody.

Last time I was looking the phone was ringing a lot from agencies and I had a lot of interviews. This silence is awful! I've only had two emails to tell me I was unsuccessful.

Of course, as soon as I started complaining I got a phone call from an agency with an interview for tomorrow :)

Really rubbish pay but it's better than nothing! Guess I best get off to Asda tonight seeing as I seem to be too fat for my old suit ;)
