I've spent the last three days (on and off) filling in the longest application form ever - 14 competency based questions that said "give examples", Its only for an Admin Assistant so I'm hoping they won't get many applications!!!! I can't believe I'm back to doing this again.0

I never understand those huge application forms for something like that!
Had an interview about volunteering in the Oxfam Boutique shop, signed up for Friday mornings so will see how that goes but I am a bit apprehensive about working in a shop.
Got an interview on Monday for a job I'd really like to get but have no experience in so not going to get my hopes up.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

Hoping it is ok to post this here. I'm looking for a bit of advice. The job centre has just changed their 'actively seeking work' forms and I'm finding the new ones a lot more complicated. I do job search everyday & apply for anything between 4-10 jobs over the 2 weeks period but now they want you writing who you've applied to speculatively or phoned up? I do go into shops and ask but applying speculatively and phoning up...I'm a bit lost there! What happens if you don't have anyone to phone etc? I do occasionally send speculative letters but I only know of a handful of places.Grocery Challenge: January: /£2140

I'm not getting any benefits but someone I know is and has had this same thing. They are literally picking up the phone book and phoning companies from it asking if there are any available jobs. Same can be done for letters
My interview is at 3.30pm, I feel quite sick and stressed about it! Worried I'll be asked questions I just don't know the answers to!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
hi there folks,
I am looking to join as I am on the jobhunt again
I currently have a job that ive been in for two years however we recently miscarried our baby and its made me take a good long hard look at things and has made realise the job im in just isnt worth it
So im looking for better hours or just a job with more chance of progression
On with the hunt.....On a mission0 -
Things have been very quiet with me. No phone calls, no emails, nothing. Just trying not to let it get me down.
Need to find the positivity and motivation again!
Same here but with the silence having gone on for nearly two months excluding the holiday I decided to take a hatchet to the CV and sort it out, first proper overhaul in years, at least that's keeping me busy and I feel I'm back in control of it. Some more temp stuff turned up this week after yesterday so getting that pay next week is good for discipline.0 -

I have been called back from that interview, they want me to go in tomorrow and do a "copywriting exercise" - never done copywriting in my life, panicking slightly!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

good luck for tomorrow Drea
it's getting serioulsy depressing up here in the North East. In the last 2 weeks there have been only 2 jobs I could apply for and over the last week the amount of new jobs being advertised has fallen massively. Indeed have been showing the same jobs all week and there have only been about 5 jobs a day being posted on the jobcentre website. Most of those are 0 hour contracts or very specialist jobs to do with the university0
