It was dark in the corner of the M6 services at Forton last night, so all I saw was a leather jacket to which I gave fifty quid but now that I'm home I realise I've bought a fake Italian.

Well I think he was maybe genuine after all, I just set fire to him.
  • In Sainsbury's [Shirley] car park today I was approached by an Italian who asked how far it was to the airport. He then showed me 3 leather/suede jackets he said he would give me to avoid paying excess baggage. He claimed to have been attending a show at the NEC which he seemed to think was in the City Centre whereas it is actually next to the Airport.

I smelled a rat so told him I was not interested and that I had never had nor wanted, a leather jacket.

Coming home I checked on Google and found this story amongst many others. This is virtually word for word what he said to me.

    >From Money Saving Expert web site:

As said above the jackets you end up with are actually fakes made of faux leather.

Foolishly I did not take the details of his car other than that it was a Vauxhall.

Not sure what can be done other than to put out warnings?
  • They are alive and well in Kidderminster too!! Stopped my father this morning in Netto carpark offering 4 leather / suede jackets for £250 to cover car hire costs as he was flying back to Italy from Manchester today. The man was prepared to follow dad in the car to the nearest cashpoint. Luckily my mum came back to the car and said no way!!

We were flagged down and told a sob story about the guy needing money for petrol to go to his son in hospital. He would give us a "solid gold' ring in exchange for cash! Fortunately I am a fan of Real Hustle and we did not bite!

Happened to us on the Northbound M1 exit slip at Dunstable. This character came to a dead stop in front of us, rolled on to the hard shoulder with his hazards on, leapt out and flagged me down. Same story - it was a 'gold' necklace this time. As we were on our way to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital which is quite near, I offered him a lift there. Didn't seem too interested in that option!

There are no trolls here on this site, just fruitcakes of the highest order.

Top Tip: Anything involving the words 'bloke' and 'car park/service station' is a scam.

    HTH

It also works when reading: you can stop reading as soon as the words 'car park' appear, knowing it's an 'I've been scammed' post. See, works lovely.

Yes ..i got approached by the nice Italians guys once with the same patter.

Apart from the fact that i am a professional scruff and therefore dont buy clothes,i saw right through him like glass !
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
