Said I could have it all his stuff for what I had in my pocket becuase I was good enough to give him directions to the auroport
So I got a suit and 3 leather jackets for 150 quid.
My wife has still to see the items but will laugh eventually
Put them on Ebay, see if they sell?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Reportage...... Oh there's no fool like an old fool!!! They caught me off guard. Two "Italians" confused looking for the airport, been at a trade fair, worried because they had excess baggage and would be better to offset the costs of carrying stuff they had been give against the costs of their hire car. Was offered a bag of stuff as a gift but the upshot, (thankfully for me!) was that when I stood ground and said I hadn't the £170 they wanted, I grabbed a couple of jackets which although were'nt the Armani Jackets I saw originally were worth a £100 to me. Good scam boys!!! I only got away because I was in a hurry. But as they say Caveat Emptor!!! You may buy a jacket with a patch cut out the back. Best advice.... don't entertain any of them. If it sound too true to be good it IS!0

They tried with me. Whilst giving me the usual pitch I broke wind quietly. It was really awful, the stench.
Anyway, had he been genuine he would of said something but he didnt. He just kept going however his eyes were watering. A few minutes later I let out another sneaky fart however this time I offered to sit in his car, and we did. I did it again but this time he said HE had to go....lol......
Try it. It worked for me.0 -

There is a scam going on at the moment which unfortunately my husband got stung by yesterday.
He is not stupid by any means and is a company director but so good is this con artist that he got caught.
Coming out of car park in Coventry,.
This scam is akin to the old 9ct gold jewelerry scam at alol car parks around the UK.

There is a scam going on at the moment which unfortunately my husband got stung by yesterday.
He is not stupid by any means and is a company director but so good is this con artist that he got caught.Coming out of car park in Coventry, an italian man approached him with a story about how he was on his way back to Italy after attending a fashion conference at the NEC ( this conference did happen and La moda did exhibit there ) .
He said he was a rep for la moda and he just had these 4 jackets left over at the end of the show. He was on his way to the airport and did not want to pay excess luggage to take them home but would my husband consider having them for the price of his hire car ( £260 ).
the jackets looked good ( or the 2 he looked closely at ) and the guy was very plausible with a seemingly soft sell. He also showed him his passport and pictures of wife and family.
He parted with the money and then rang me. As soon as i put reportage jackets into google it came up with scambusters website with similar stories from around the world. The jackets are PVC not leather and certainly not Armani. Please beware. If this post stops one of you falling for same then i have not wasted my time.0 -

If they are faked branded goods, you cannot describe them in any manner that will enable you to sell them legally. They do not belong to you, they belong to the company that owns the brand-name. To sell them would be illegal, on a number of different levels. Your best bet would be to sell them down the pub, describing them as fake, so the buyer is fully aware - still illegal but won't attract the trouble that Ebay could. Ofcourse 1000s of people sell fake stuff on Ebay every day but they have throwaway accounts and false details.
If they are not fakes, just cheap tat with a made up name, describe tham for what they are, PVC or whatever, and feel free to sell them.0 -

The way to check for leather is to use a lighter and attempt to burn it, if it doesn't burn it's leather. If it does burn or melts it's plastic.
I see the usual MSE trolls are active here as usual.0
